I have used a flowjet macerator for years......my dump at home is uphill. A little trick that I have learned with it...after using it spray the inside of ii with WD40.....,it has kept the motor purring like a kitten. Many dont do this and the water sitting in it can freeze/lock them up...a simple time tested knowledge tidbit...trust me!

Great information! Pumping at home is the way to go. There's an RV dump a few miles from home, but it's $15 to use. I bought a macerator pump on ebay for ~$75. It didn't have all of the accessories like the Camco, so I improvised. It came with a short 1" clear vinyl hose connected to the pump outlet so you can see the color of the "stuff" it's pumping. Because my sewer outlet is roughly 85' from my rv parking spot, I bought a 100' roll of clear vinyl hose on Amazon. With that distance a standard garden hose is too small. The 1" hose has no restriction at all. I'm a plumber by trade, so I raided the local Home Depot for the adapters I needed to hook it up at both ends. It works great. Thanks for the info!

like u said this is great for those of us who have at-home septic.... BUT the one time i actually needed this on the road was when my site dump did not work and i was able to use this to connect to the next site over since there was nobody there and saved us from having to pack up and move to another site, so the one time i brought it on the road it paid for itself IMO?? they are a great tool but not a necessary one, good video thanks... AND thanks for showing all us who do NOT live in road salt states how it is rusting out the "stang" engine compartment(u can have that wx) how lucky we are 🤠

Hi Izzy and MJ! Loved the video! Great demo of the product. I love when you show this because you show it show it slow so we can see how it’s done. It looks like a great product. I going to let my friends know about it. They live in their Rv. Thank you for this video!

I have been using the Xylem (FloJet) macerator for years and we do not carry it in the RV, it is just for home use as our driveway is uphill from the sewer clean-out. Glad to see Camco has come out with one.

I am long winded..lol...I ALSO use hose quick connects as the housing on the macerators are plastic and it wouldn't be hard to cross thread when using repeatedly/regularly...makes it faster to hook up too....I ALWAYS carry the mascerator with me especially if boondocking during extended stays...that way its easier to macerate and fill my blue boy tote and haul the crap away without moving the rv...food for thought when you guys go mostly fulltime ...RETIREMENT!!!! YEAAAH!

I also ran a 10 gauge fused SAE electric wall mount connector to the dump area that works for 3 things. 1. Powers the macerator 2. I use portable solar panels and use an inline solar controller that connects to this same SAE fitting to charge house batteries (I ran 10 gauge wire to use a 20 amp inline mppt solar controller plugged to the portable solar panels FYI) 3. it gives you a 12v source outlet to power things that might need the 12 volts....worth the time and doesn't cost alot to install...

We don’t poop 💩 in our RV! Never, Ever! We do use Matt’s product.

Good video, FYI dump a few gallons from the gray 1st. This "lubricates" the hose so that you do not get any black tank content stuck in the tiny crevasses.

My flojet works great, I use it at home, I pump about 75 feet. In allows me to flush the tank out after a trip really well.

Hey, that green garden hose you used could be reused to water garden or lawn and any residue will fertilize as well.😁I have an onboard macerator but we also have macerator toilets so we don't always use it. I had a campground owner tell me I could dump onto his hay field. He said it isn't any worse than the horse____ he uses.

Lots of state parks around south Louisiana are starting to put sewage around their camp sites.

The fitting you were not sure what it is for looks like a pressure relief value so contaminated water does not flow back into your water supply when you flush the device.
@SteveLee-iw6wz5 ай бұрын
It’s a “back flow preventer” required, actually, whenever there is a possibility of contaminating your potable water supply.

I got a product called “Sewer Weight” instead of wife’s foot. Small easy to use and don’t have to carry sandbags or add water etc. Amazon or Camping World, about $16.50 estimation. Do you have estimated time for dumping the black tank, 40-50 gallons?😁🤛👍🙏😎🦅🇺🇸

We also have a sewer weight lol.

Is the Camco Macerator Pump better or worse than the Clean Dump RV Macerator Pump that you reviewed a few years ago? Also greetings from Middlesex county! 😀
@EndlessRVing5 ай бұрын
Pretty much the same. We like the Camco one a little more because it uses common garden hose vs larger more expensive hose on the clean dump

Little disappointed. I've been using this product since you first started pushing it. Unless I did something wrong, price was not free. It was $7.00 plus $5.99 shipping.

You chose the 32 oz which is discounted. The free one was the 16oz

They didn't tell you that you have to purchase something to get a free bottle. Not so free.

Other than shipping what’s not free?

Your right. All you have to do is pay shipping. I wasn't doing it correct.
