Last time I went to the Sam Ash in Indy I had a similar experience. At least the electric guitar wall, which was smaller in comparison to this one, was pretty empty. The acoustic room was pretty full and so was the classical stringed and brass instrument area and the keyboard area. It's a pretty big SA. The guitar center I went in to wasnt much better stocked either though. Hopefully they bounce back sooner than later. As for Michael Kelly guitars, that's Sam Ash's in house brand. Would be interested in seeing you try some of them out as they dont have much saturation in the guitar YT market.

I haven't been to the Sam Ash in Indy in a few years, sucks to hear that because I really enjoyed it when I was there last. Sweetwater seems to do a pretty good job at keeping the racks full at least thankfully
@Andrew_182

@@bradenbaker3633 I think its just down to the conditions currently. Last time I went before that was in 2019 and they had a decent selection. I've never been to Sweetwaters campus (plan to make a trek eventually), but yeah they definitely do see to do a good job at keeping a fair amount of things in stock, but I think that's down to sheer scale and the fact they only have one location so they aren't spreading stock all over the country.

The shortages are going to continue to get worse, since the most perfect and effective vaccine in history continues to fail. Israel has the highest percentage of vaccinated people on the planet, and also the fastest transmission rate. So much for the unvaccinated being the cause of the spread.

I used to sell guitars at that store about 12 years ago. I still stop in to say hi to some old friends every now and then. It kills me every time that the store seems to get worse every time. When I worked there it was wall to wall rad stuff and was a flagship store for them. I used to to a lot of appraisals and vintage stuff. Now it’s just a shell. It’s upsetting, I hope the music stores in general eventually come back bigger than ever. There’s nothing better being able to walk around and play rad gear.

This is the same Sam Ash I went to growing up. Last time I went there, I was waiting to get into the Men's Warehouse next door and it felt like I was John Travolta from that Pulp Fiction scene that got turned into a meme. I feel like for guitar stores in the area, George's Music the guys are too overbearing since they work off commission, Sam Ash it was always hard for me to even get someone to help, and Guitar Center is usually a crapshoot because there's such high turnaround.

Omg, my band drove two hours to Sam ash in Richmond va yesterday and they had zero new Gibsons or fenders, only cheap garbage. Next door was a guitar center and same thing… garbage. What the heck is going on with these big stores? The small mom n pop shops are stocking better equipment. I’ve pretty much stopped going to the big stores cause they consistently suck and have nothing for real guitarists. They’ve become the amateur’s headquarters. I’ve bought a few high end guitars online like PRS’s but Gibsons have no consistency and must be played and seen in person.

23 years since I've been in this damn ass black in the end of the nineties United flight 1999 when I lived in Ohio. And they were shining amazing stores. They had everything in stock and everything you could ever hope to look for. Including tons of a used to get here and gear. I find it very sad to see that they are in such Dyers now. I live in Nebraska and a very small town that has no music store I have to shop online closest one is 300 miles from and I'm not driving through enter miles to go to music store and that would be Guitar Center. Yeah I live in the butt hole of America. It's good to see the inside of a Sam Ash Music Store Orlando I have great memories Sam Ash. Nothing like the feeling of walking a music store that you love spending half the day just checking out gear. Haven't got to do that in a very long time I envy you. Thank you for the video

That Sam Ash is like a pristine museum compared to the Charlotte NC location. Charlotte's SA looks like it's closed and abandoned from the parking lot (which is also unkept). The inside is more boxes than equipment with the exception of the guitar, piano, and recording departments. The guitar counter, which is a very large L shape, looks like a bunch of 15 yo's had a party and nobody ever cleaned up. More than half the hooks were empty. I felt like I was at a funeral.
@BrockTee
@BrockTee Жыл бұрын
I worked at that location in the early 2000's. It was a site to behold at the time. But the third generation of Ash's made a move to go more in on beginner level equipment around the end of my time there. They also changed how they were paying new hires(they grandfathered existing workers) and took away a lot of awesome deals vendors use to give to the employees. I knew at the time they were going to lose dedicated professionals and just become a rotating door of younger, or low quality employees who don't have the proper knowledge or skills to help players. Not sure if the moves were related to trying to adjust to online sales becoming more of a thing or what, but the store are a shell of their former glory. Also (although you may have had this answered) Those Michael Kelly or whatever would be house brand guitars. They were named Carlos Robelli when I worked there. Typically low quality beginner gear with a great price margin for the retailer.

Michael Kelly is Sam Ash's house brand. Like how Thomann has Harley Benton, just smaller selection and not nearly as good prices. They're pretty solid guitars tho. Also, if you're ever on Long Island, there's a Guitar Center in Commack and a Sam Ash in Huntington that r both pretty nice. There's also a smaller music store called Murphy's Music in Huntington that's cool. They have a lot of rly cool G&L guitars.

I was at that store about a month or so ago and it was hurting then as well. This week I stopped in at Sam ash at Franklin mills and they are hurting too but they had a few PRS’s come in and not just the SE models. I got to talking to one of the guys and he said his Martin rep was just in and said they are going to make Martin’s with black pick guards since they can’t get their normal pick guards. Interesting times we are living in. My suggestion for a shop to check out would be deluca in hatboro. Would be pretty awesome to see some mom and pop place in “ our” tri-state area.

Maaaaaan I haven't been to that store in a few months. Geez.... compared to then and what I saw in your video, it is indeed pretty sad. That used to be one of my go to stops. Gibsons, Gretsch, Ibanez, BC Rich, ESPs, Fender, Jacksons, etc. all used to be in their shelves. To see it like it is in your video makes me really hope they do not go out of business. Try George's Music. North Wales being their biggest one. Nice people over there. NOTE: Mostly just PRS, Ibanez, Fender and Epiphones in their stock.
