older people it seems.. my mother (77 years old) loves then as they are so nice and polite to her (they know exactly what to say... sigh) .. i keep trying to tell her these people are only polite to try to steal her money....sigh..had one to her was asking her a survey and overheard her talking on the phone giving out all this personal information about herself... shocked i stepped in and asked her what was going on... some random person asking questions ... and talking to her... she gets caught as well if they talk to her... so so frustrating... and waht scares me is if she gets ripped off she will not tell anyone through embarrassment... years back my brother and i suddenly started getting emails from her on penis enlargement... we thought what the f.??? talked to her re her email had been hacked... she had been using the same password for various websites she joined re cooking and gardening... sigh.. she hated me telling her (politely... trying to be nice about it) that there are people out there that aren't honest...

It's hard to believe, but about 1 in 1000 get sucked in. It's a numbers game. I played with a few of them today. 1 didn't like my blocked number and was pretending to be a girl (guess he's trans) playing with herself . The 2nd got my number (well almost) and ended up hanging up after 20 minutes and the 3rd saw my number (different line) and hung up after 39 minutes frustrated. They are so easy to play with.

@@ChrisFoxtrot yep... i try sometimes to sound like an old (older..!? lol) feeble person to waste their time.. as if they are wasting time with me they dont have time (or less time) to scam some really vulnerable person... but it seems there are LOTS of scammers.. and i don't know if all the scam baiting makes much difefrence as they seem to be ripping off older people all the time... sigh

@@albertbresca8904 I believe it makes a difference. I sometimes make them really mad. They then think genuine callers are baiters and start cussing them out . They can be worn down. When I used to do it years ago, I had pretty well hundreds of caller ID's to use and called them pretty well rapid fire . Even before I spoke, they'd be cussing (even though it could have been a genuine victim) . The best thing to do is get the word out so everyone knows about the scams. I've educated my parents. If they get some weird call, they tend to call me now to confirm.

How about u pretend to go to the store, n the gift card is OOS, then say that there's an alternative way that the cashier can do, which digitally create the card. Then say the card need verifications. So they need the gift card receiver's phone number in order to get a TAC or something... N just go "did u get it?" while actually u didn't do anything. Proceed to other numbers till they give more n more of their scam's number. I think this low minded people will not know if u do like this. N those other scam's number, probably u can share to the others scambaiter who can waste their time using the flood call or something? I forgot what it was called...
