This is more than acting, she had to mentally put herself in that distressed state of mind and really live it! I don’t know how actors/actresses can undo some of the trauma they put themselves through for some of these scenes but they create masterpieces and I hope live well afterwards

My grandparents are dead and they certainly experienced/lived through immense segregation, discrimination etc.. but those are not the ones I ever refer to as- oh my ancestors are dead. Usually, that term is used for generations prior to our grandparents. Also, most of those that truly lived through the worse of it are dead.

This was from 2016 before the narrative of demanding more pay. This was based in the 60's when black people had no rights and discrimination was at its worse in classroom and the workplace.. This included her parents and grandparents. I'd probably be an emotion wreck if I had to deliver those lines.
