I remember an episode about painter I think, he was an alcoholic and he and Beaver were friends. Beaver unknowing gave him alcohol, but of course Beaver didn’t know that he had something wrong. Ward kept him on providing that he not drink while on the job. I think that was a very important episode that they dealt with. My dad was also an alcoholic too. I understood it well as a kid, only thing I found strange was why there wasn’t any violence in the episode. In my young mind I thought it was great because no other TV shows dealt with that issue, alcoholism. ⭐️

Mark Hamill did the same thing when filming "STAR WARS" EP. IV... At the end of the film, after he blows up the "Death Star ", they're all running in, where the X-wings have just returned to the Rebel base hangar, and are excitedly greeting each other, and Luke calls out Carrie (Fisher) instead of "Leia" or even just "Princess"...The scene was left in the finished film, because Lucas liked the way it had been shot....

“Leave It To Beaver Fan” is one of the most iconic TV shows of its time. I love all of the episodes so much and watch 2-4 episodes each morning! My favorite episode is when Beaver fell in love with with the young teacher substituting for Miss Lander’s one season. ❤ I wish some Network would bring back the original “Lassie” series. Yes, it’s old; however, Timmy and Lassie would either learn a lesson (ie what happens if you disobey a parent) or Timmy and/or Lassie helped someone in need. (ie an act of kindness, or saving a life). This would be a great gift across the US to the little ones. Let them learn love again. ❤

Perhaps if more wholesome shows like this, The Waltons, Little House on the Prairie, My Three Sons,,,etc were made today instead of the violent nature of shows our kids are exposed to, there would be less violence in this country. Loved Leave it to Beaver and all those shows back then. Now it’s hard to find non violent shows on TV. No wonder streaming is overtaking cable!

Watch it every morning and we constantly find things that don't "fit" with other episodes. Seems no matter how much we watch we pick up on another, "what?" that doesn't marry with other shows, and the things that are different later on when referenced. The one thing that is relatable to today is, June always saying that's not like them, or whichever one, but they're constantly getting in trouble.

Favorite episodes are hard to pick. They were all good. I did like the one about Wally having a first date with a girl at a restaurant, and discovering he had forgotten his wallet as they were dining. Ward Cleaver made a call to the establishment and made a payment arrangement, saving Wally any embarrassment at all. I haven't seen the show in at least five decades, but I remember how fun they were to watch in the early sixties.

I love when Beaver cuts his own hair and Wally finishes it up. Hilarious! Also, Eddie was such a talented actor on this show. He had the best lines! I agree with you it's a little hard to place location, since the palm trees were present from time to time, and they talked about going to the beach that was close by.Of course the alligator in an early episode, was taken to an alligator park they won't survive in cold weather. I love Judy and Larry also, and so many of the other stars. I wish the Back to Beaver show that followed was as talented with the writing. It really was sort of sad with Beaver having such a horrible wife that wanted a divorce.

I think that would be a good move having poor innocent Beaver hooked up with a mean wife who tricked him into a bad marriage while All American Wally married a June Cleaver type wife and had good children who were nice and neat . Of course Beavers wife had children previous to her marriage and they were troublesome and derespectful to the old Beav .

Beaver wanted to befriend the boy and went to Eddie Haskell who had a Spanish language class. Beaver asks Eddie for something he could say to the exchange student As a Compliment but, being the Rat Eddie instead told the boy, "Tu tienes una cara como in puerco" or You have the face of a Pig 🐖 Eddie played the Jerk very well! 😃♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

I’ve been consumed on where Mayfield could be. In the episode where the boys build a canoe Ward tries to comfort June by saying don’t worry the ocean is 20 miles away. It can’t be California, in the episode where Beaver graduates from Grant Ave June tells Beaver his Uncle Billy is coming all the way from California. Ward says a few times the home office of his company is in NY. My best guess would be Maryland or Delaware. There’s also a reference to a relative in Florida also the boys almost always have light jackets on when outside, though it never snows or is wintertime cold.

There's no one location that matches all of the clues, but Ohio comes closer than any other place. Then, there were those prop checks with Wally's name and address on them (from the later Leave It To Beaver sequel) showing Wally's address as being in Mayfield, Ohio (he was living right next door to June, who was still living in the Cleaver's second family home).

I watched Leave it to Beaver regularly as a child. I can't claim to have a favorite episode because I really only remember one. Can't say it was my favorite, just more memorable (perhaps because I was probably around 15 years old when I saw it). It concerned a new latino kid in town and the confusion caused when Beaver's brother taught him a supposed "welcome to the neighborhood" phrase in Spanish to say to his new friend but what's he actually said was "You have a face like a pig"!

I don't know why we are holding Leave it to Beaver to these standards. It is about what people wanted to from entertainment. This was the generation that fought WWII. A good chunk of their youth was dedicated to fighting and surviving the blood and gore ,of the most violent in hauman history. . There's more than one TV show that shows a life more idyllic then real life at the time for example my three sons, bewitched, my mother car, car 5 , McHale's Navy, Dick. Van Dyke Showy Dennis the menace, Batman, The Munsters and The Addams family. So let's just accept what leave it to Beaver is all about. It's just entertainment. It's therefore a single, it's too alouw people to relax laugh a little bit and enjoy a nice neat little series about a little boy growing up in the 1950s and early 1960 "s . This is what that generation wanted and needed. That was a generation who suffered massive PTSD. And that is why all of these shows have people drinking alcohol.

That calendar thing happened a lot - it's like they would go out of their way to not give out the date. A lot of shows in the 1950s and 1960s would put the copyright date in the opening credits that would last for one or more seasons. Donna Reed Show 1961-1963 had a 1961 copyright date. Bewitched would have 1964-1966 use 1964, although the theme song would tell you it was in the 1965-1966 season. Seasons 3-6 had the 1966 opening that lasted through 1969, and the 1969 opening lasted through 1972.

Still watch LITB daily. Just saw an episode yesterday that showed a brief glimpse of the toilet tank in the boys bathroom. As I continue to watch the reruns I've begun to notice inconsistencies over the years. The 3rd rendition of the opening theme has a subtle blooper. When June comes out of the front door holding a tray of ice tea in her hands, the door automatically opens for her and closes behind her. But it's not done by Ward or any one of the boys as they are outside doing yard work! Fred Rutherford only once mentions Lumpy has two older brothers. Then on other episodes Fred just mentions either Lumpy or Violet (2 different Violets) but never seen or mentioned together (?). Over the years, Eddie Haskell has had three different looking fathers. In the episode where Beaver is supposed to be a canary in the 3rd grade play, you see Larry's father for the first and last time. Early on, Larry mentions he has two older brothers bit doesn't mention a sister. Then he just has the one married brother with a child and then an older sister his mom desperately wants to marry off! The show was also frugal with the vehicles used on the set. You see the same car that Ward drives being driven down the street or parked elsewhere in other scenes. I think it was a community car! Good stuff anyway. Thanks for sharing. 🤣🤣
