Which way do you like doing your sweep picks? And how did this change things for you? 😁

Hell yeah!!! That up-stroke on the high E adds so much stability and fluidity. I could never do a clean sweep until just now! Doing a down stroke or hammer-on, pull-off creates too much movement and is way harder to time and get down! Awesome lesson 👏 😀

Love seeing you go through all my videos :D Congrats!!

Yes I want to know exactly how to do this, I have worked on it off and on for years. I also want to learn many other techniques, also. Thanks.

This was very helpful thank you. Ditching the hammer on and pull off (for now) helps me focus more on the rake and hand synchronization for sure.

Be diligent and practice with a timer and a metronome! It will likely take you longer than 30 days but that's a great start :-)

@mattwright466 Jolly can already sweep ok jolly just improving and seeing where els it takes Jolly

Great video, I've been trying to relearn sweep picking and I always have either that dead note on the high e-string or just a muddy mess moving to the higher strings. The upstroke on the high-e string really makes a difference! thank you very much!

Thanks much, man! Yeah! This is an especially good trick on lower gain sounds. ;-)

Dude great video! I really struggle with these 2-note on top or Bottom strings sweeps because of the hammerons and pullofs. I just find it so hard to get the timing of the legato right AND the sweep picking right. Definitely giving these patterns a try! Keep up the good work I’m loving your channel

This will fix that 100% ;-)

Great video man! This is something I’ve had problems with, and I think this will definitely add some clarity to my sweeps. This makes more sense when you do it this way.

I understand your theory here but putting the breaks on the sweep right pick to go over the high E string and not down stroke the high E is counterintuitive of the whole idea of the sweeping motion. TO clean up a sweep for me is to mute down more with right hand muting technique. Feels just natural to hammer on pull off and then I'm right on an upstroke on the B string descend.

What are you tuned to? High C on E is 20, not 19.

Oh man. Experiences with teachers can be tough sometimes… Sometimes you just gotta say “well I’m gonna do it this way because that’s MY style.” I mean, you saw in the beginning of the video, did it NOT sound like sweeping?

Maybe I just need to get my hand synchronization at a higher level. I can barely do a landing sweep.

Also go slower! When I started on sweeps, I started at literally 50-60bpm 16th notes. After you get the initial sync down, you'll move up more quickly. Make clean as possible slow. Practice a slow set, run through all exercises at say 50-60, then repeat ALL EXERCISES at like 80 or 100. Pushing to a point where it's difficult, but not completely falling apart.@@sole__doubt

@@mattwright466 Gotcha. Ive been working on scales and modes for the past few months and can rip them up but Im a rookie at the sweeping. I honestly cant believe how bad I am compared to my scale runs.
