This formula sounds great in theory but honestly has never worked for my educational channel. It feels forced and manipulative and doesn’t match my personality or content. And I don’t want to watch “story” videos when I’m looking for answers to technical questions. There’s got to be a better way.

Yeah, I’m curious how this applies to an educational channel. That’s not about historical figures. I mean, I could use it on some of my videos if I were explaining a biblical character, but for most of my videos, I can’t see how this would work.

I understand the sentiment. It sometimes feel like storytelling doesn’t work in some niches and I think it’s really a matter of how hard or easy it is as opposed to whether or not it works. The challenge is getting creative with how you set something up - Even if it’s educational. You can turn anything into a story by turning it into a game or by impose some sort of restriction or challenge. I’m in the tech niche and it is difficult to find the story in something as objective as reviews but a story quickly forms if instead review the tech by using it to solve a challenge. I empathize that it is hard but it is possible so Keep trying!!

In my niche, a viral video just won't happen. Because it's a very narrow field of interest. On the opposite hand, the few people watching my stuff, are very dedicated and grateful I provided them with my tours. That's what makes me happy. I get boats for free to test from sponsors, I don't have to buy stuff to make my trips and film them. That's my win, but I also have to work pretty hard to accomplish that. Cheers Eckie

Although I enjoy your channel, I find that at some point it’s hard to transpose and make work your strategies in the context of a small niche channel (I’m doing music education content). I would love to see you pick more examples of history, educational, cultural channels, less trendy but it’s really where there is a real challenge I believe for content creators.

This video is a classic example of the self-help and “get-rich-quick” content that's rampant on KZbin. The promise is always the same: there’s some secret, untapped formula for success waiting to be discovered. In this case, that’s a 19th-century story structure that's somehow the key to viral videos. While Freytag's Pyramid is helpful for crafting narratives, it's far from a magic formula, especially applied to KZbin content. Additionally, the constant references to Mr. Beast are thinly veiled attempts to capitalize on his success while avoiding the actual work that goes into it. The promise of a free PDF template just reinforces that this video is about selling a product, not providing genuinely helpful filmmaking advice.

The three act structure used in films and literature works also. I only started uploading my fiction audiobooks 90 days ago. After slow start I now have 50.7 k views, (most in the last 28 days). with watch time of 26.9k hours. Subscribers are a different matter, with 761 and chasing that elusive fort 1000 subs. Three act structure - Act I - Setup: Exposition, inciting incident, plot point one • Act II - Confrontation: Rising action, midpoint, plot point two • Act III - Resolution: Pre climax, climax, conclusion. Every story needs a good hook to lure in its readers.

Just a quick tip, if you delete all your low performing shorts, then when the algorithm goes to index your channel again, it will "see" that you are metrics are "higher". I did this in a couple of rounds with the lowest first, leave a few days and then the lower ones next. I saw a rise in views as a result. But please do your research first as your milage may vary for each channel. Keep it up!

Using a framework for our contents could be helpful but depends about which kind of contents you're creating. For me, is really important to create an "unique style" especially during the first 30seconds of the video and using the same color gradients in every "walking content" that I'm making
@kmarshie5 ай бұрын
I totally understand this strategy but am having difficulty applying it to my niche of travel. Most travel creators are doing ship/resort tours or sharing their experience on a particular vacation. There isn't much of a challenge, rising action, climax, falling action or resolution. Either that or I just have a block that isn't able to see how this is applied to the average travel video from the existing channels I have researched that get tens and hundreds of thousands of views without these elements.
