Porter really took a dive at the end there for those scratches LOL!. I forgot to mention that Kinder is deaf. Although that doesn't slow him down at all as you can tell. I'm unable to comprehend how an individual can give up a companion of a decade plus. I started adopting the seniors who have been abused and abandoned. They are fantastic companions. Usually house trained and learn the routine quickly. They learn how to use the doggy doors and they always enjoy our Friday night movie event. Happy this little one found the Porter & Polly crew ... won the lottery and knows it.

I could NEVER abandon a senior dog. One of my dogs forgot her house training, and I think was senile, but I cared for her for 2 years before she let me know it was time. One day she refused to try to stand up anymore, and she wouldn't eat or even drink. And I think she was in pain although I'm not sure why. The vet told me there wasn't anything they could do for her, so I made the decision and stayed with her until she was gone. RIP Lady.

My daughter brought home a chiweenie that had belonged to her friend's family. The family was having to move from their house into an apartment and couldn't keep her anymore. They were going to surrender her to the Houston SPCA. They had raised her from a puppy and she was 10 yrs old. My daughter was afraid they would euthanize her because she wouldn't get adopted. So we adopted her. Her old family was happy because they could still visit her and get updates on her. We had her for 5 yrs. We loved her and she loved us. She was 15 yrs old and died of conjestive heart failure. I held her in my arms as she took her last breath.

I’ve got a 13 year old terrier/chihuahua mix whose overweight. I got her when she was 11 because the couple had children and couldn’t control their children from abusing the dog, so Stella had to go. I’m the one who’s blessed here! I have a wonderful dog who follows me everywhere. We’ve been working at her weight and in about 6 months of active watching she doesn’t eat her brother’s food or the cat’s food, she’s lost .5 pounds. Doesn’t sound like much but they told me dogs aren’t supposed to loose too fast. That’s okay! We have the rest of her life to work on it!

Hahaha omgoodness the beginning just made me laugh so hard - I needed that! TYSM for saving Kinder. Andy, you and your wife are amazing humans. Kinder is such a sweet pup! I have have 7 dogs and I cant imagine surrendering any of them. 3 of them are 11-12 yrs old (long story short, go to the pound to save one and you come out with 2, then rescue one thats on her way to the pound) All worth it - two of them have medical issues. these are my kiddos with fur.

Mr Porter is happy to be the star again. Ain't no one going beat Mr Porter for dancing chicken awards. This dog seems well behaved it is a shame that someone would rather euthanize their pet than to take them with them. Keep up the great work Andy.

Dancing chickens rule the world! I can’t understand giving up a dog that’s healthy to be killed. Such a handsome guy ❤ I’m old and fat, too, Kinder 😉 I will only adopt seniors from now in, they just have such tender personalities. Thank you, Andy for being so good to these guys.

Thank you for taking this cutie in. He’s alert and interested in food and interacting with everyone. He will lose weight playing with your babies. ❤🐕

Rewatching this. I think Porter was testing you to see if were still going to be there to catch him if he falls! 😆 You passed with flying colors. 😃

LOL. I almost let go of my camera on that one. Then I realized it was a short fall.

I'm glad Vet mom decided he lives and I'm glad he's with you. He's a little chunky but he seems to be happy and comfortable. I don't know how people base their decisions. Because Kinder has some health issues maybe it was a financial thing. Or maybe he just didn't match the furniture anymore 🤔. So tough for a dog to be given up at that age. Hoping for the best for him...🙏.

Very sad that anyone could get their elderly dog put to sleep just because they no longer loved or wanted him🤔😔 I am so glad you and your Family is on the case he is adorable and appears to fit in well xx

He's a strong little tyke to stand up on his hind legs like that. That's so awesome that you are fostering him. The excitables are so adorable too.
