Many of these footballers come from poor backgrounds, they struggled a lot before coming where they are while I am pretty damn sure the wives were a bit better off in their childhood (Better off is an understatement considering Victoria Beckham). It's literally different worlds for them.

I think footballers do take those times off. That's when they say they are absent for "personal reasons." But I don't know if it extends to international level. But the other danger with taking time off is someone else taking your place.

​​@@coconutzmilkSometimes you hear of it on the Radio or TV and your like fair play, congratulations other times for example it would say and Jarod Bowen is in the squad today despite his Girlfriend giving birth to a baby girl last night, another example is the team I support West Brom our Manager Carlos Coberan was managing us and it was either the day before or a couple of days before the match that his Mrs gave birth as they did say he might be tired from having a new born Baby. Surely he could have given the tactics and team he planned to play can't remember how we did if we were at home we probably won to his Assistant whilst he had some time off. It is probably personal choice, but maybe the Clubs also play a factor, if your like Jarod Bowen one of West Ham's best players and they have a big game for Europe against say Wolves they might want him even if his Partner had given birth the night before
