You forgot to mention the hatch you open to reveal the carry handle! imo easily the biggest improvement over earlier models, concealment but still very easy access to the carry handle. Very nice review as always HTR!

i feel like if lego wanted to creating a battlepack with a crew member, an officer, a navy trooper and a gunner along with a cannon would be great to add to the star destroyer.

@@jmheasley4473 An ISD is 1,600 meters, and a Providence-class Dreadnought is 1,088 meters. Hence, an ISD is 1.47 times as long as the Invisible Hand. This LEGO ISD is 46 cm long, and the Invisible Hand from earlier this year is 30 cm long. That means this Star Destroyer is 1.53 times as long as the Invisible Hand. If it was about three studs shorter (which isn’t much), then they would be absolutely perfectly scaled together.

I don’t like the prices for a lot of the sets this year but I love how Lego is adding tons of figs to some smaller to medium sized sets. The tantive came with 7, the skiff + sarlacc came with 6, the battle of peridia came with 5, the battlepack came with 9, etc

Army building is always talked about primarily with clone troopers. But for someone like myself who enjoys army building Imperial troops, this is a good set to get for a diverse set of Imperial ranks.

My only complaint with the sey is that its meant to sit on the ground, not on a stand. So there's no hangar on the bottom

It’s funny, losing the six studs really kills the interior space for the bridge. I sprung for the 2014 one, and it’s a loss that hurts. That being said, for cost if this all you can get it’s well worth it I can tell you owning the 2014 set, you will enjoy the new one. What it needs were two Imperial crewman, an Imperial Star Destroyer bubble pack battle pack sold alongside with one crew member,one storm trooper and an imperial droid would have been so nice that included a small brick built Tantive IV.

Bought this om Thursday and its gorgeous! I also own the 2006 version of this set and the newer one is on par with the older one. Great interior, lots of details, outside of the ship is beautifully designed. Just wish we had gotten an extra stormtrooper and for Vader to have gotten a better cape

2024 Milano is the set of the year imo. This is 160$ and wont have much discount and its smaller and doesnt have the best building experience. + its very small. Milano is 180$ and you could get it for 25% off on day one. Is the most fun build I ever had and is massive edit: Lego sw set of the year for me is the tantive boarding if marvel doesnt count

@@Darth_B 4 studs is not an insignificant shrink. And while the proportions check out on the outside, you lose quite the space on the inside. The 2023 gunship is only 2 studs less wide and has like only 5 plates less head space for the figures inside. And thats a similar shrinkdown but really takes from the play value

Yeah I just bought this set yesterday. It’s a really amazing set. Idk why it gets so much hate but I think the sizing is great and it offers a lot of playability.

People will complain over anything. Sure, it’s a bit smaller than previous models, but it looks so much better than the others. I’ll take a far superior looking model than a larger model any day. I also don’t have a ton of room, so it being smaller is a bit of a plus for me.

Yeah I don't think i agree. The interior is meh when the last star destroyer(1st order) interior was mint. And the last imperial star destroyer was bigger,and had far better proportions. This triangular ship isn't as good as the last two, both the new order and imperial were bigger with more details and better proportions. Somehow you say the new one is better proportions it's less accurate...

Yeah, adjusted for inflation, this set is actually $10 cheaper than the 2014 version, more pieces, and 3 more figs. Can't ask for too much more. Except maybe a poncho...or bd1

@@pk251 Price to piece is a terrible measure. Small pieces that are not worth 10 cents inflate the part count. And you only get 7 figs, for that price anything under 10 is ridiculous, especially because half of the figs are generic imperial dudes that could easily have multiples and make sense. I guess shills are gonna be shills though
