Out of curiosity, do you consider all the regional birds forms of pidgey and the regional rodents forms of rattata? Like, are Pokémon that fall into a specific niche just forms of the Pokémon that came before it?

honestly, I think pikaclones are just something that the community has made up because there is a pikachu-like pokemon in everygame. some games there are more than one like plusle and minun. Personally, I don't consider them different forms and moreso just different pokemon. I do think of regional rodents, for example caterpie and scatterbug. I just use it to group or think about them easier. I wouldn't say fletchling is another form of pidgey. I used the terminology in this video because I saw it as a common thought in the community and I had trouble thinking of what to name this lmao

Yeah usually every gen has its bug and bird “clones”, but pikachu, being the mascot is the only one they seem to make sure they focus on and make sure the new generation gets the pikaclone treatment. Plus, every pikaclone is based off of some rodent and not just a mammal. Whereas the birds, even though they are all avian, aren’t always the same kind of bird i.e. songbird, bird of prey, scavenger. And the bugs aren’t always caterpillars. But pikaclones are always rodents, always electric, and always cute.

I do want to mention this and I will die on this hill, Pichu Isn’t a Pikachu clone because it is the pre-evolution of Pikachu, it is simply the baby form of the games mascot. It’s not trying to intimidate something, because it doesn’t have to. This is why I will stick to the guns that It isn’t. @Baron Rikano In Pokémon Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon, The Ash-Cap Pikachu received from Pikachu Valley has a 1/4096 chance to be shiny-locked meaning it also has a 1/4096 chance to be shiny. There are many video of people doing these hunts legitimately on KZbin. The Pikachu doesn't have a shiny model but it does have the ability to have a red star and a sparkle animation when sent out. I'd recommend the KZbin Channel AbsolBlogs to see these weird and crazy shiny hunts and an explanation on the hunts

I love the pawmi line, but the naming of the successive evolutions bugs me. Especially because I found out when I started Scarlet in Japanese after playing Violet in English, that pawmi is called pawmo, pawmo is called pawmot, and pawmot is just pawmot with a longer aw sound. Not sure if I'm missing some pun in the Japanese, but what is with the mismatching of names between localizations?

Mimikyu actually dressed up as Pikachu bc of it's popularity, it was originally hated a lot and it hated Pikachu for it's popularity and the fact Pikachu was more loved than it, so technically it's both not and is a pikaclone but with the backstory of why mimikyu dressed like pikachu makes it not really a pikaclone (I also absolutely love mimikyu)

If you got a friend or another switch you can union room and save before setting up a picnic on both and have the 2nd switch make the sandwhich and use herba mysitca and then once you leave the results screen on both, reset the console that used the HM. It keeps the save of having the HM in the bag and the console that was connected keeps the buffs, you only need 2 HM to do this. Only problem is having the second switch or a friend but it saves a ton of time farming
