What people in the UK don't know about old Corvette's would be; Yes, they get surprisingly good fuel economy for a big V8. They are supremely dependable. They handle really well and are a blast to drive. The car looks great, but would look even better without the aftermarket air dam under the front bumper.

Hey Don. That front splitter was actually built by Peter himself in fiberglass. He admitted it's not his best work but he's looking at removing/replacing it.

Nice ride, a stock C5Z06 with GM test driver did the Nurburgring in 7:59 something so a slow trackday is no problem with this car, i had a yellow manual C5 cab 2002 earlier but changed to a 2010 C6 Grandsport Callaway SC606 love it, toured Germany - France last summer from Sweden and despite having 600+ hp it still is like 28-30 mpg at highway amazing fuel economy.

Yes, here in the US a well-maintained C5 certainly can be a daily driver. Mine is., and it's a delight to drive every time I get in it. Fun review as it's great to get a British perspective on these 20+ year-old cars.

Thanks for that. It's great to find passionate people who cares for their drives. Especially when they're dailies! Greetings from the UK

@2:10 the dramatic steering over correction 🤣 it's an auto mate. They barely break traction

I'd love to meet Peter! I own a 98' c5 coupe and live in London. I have not found any other c5 owners in London, so would be happy to head further out.
