This Shouldn't Be Allowed To Happen‼️ when ever you get a General Election you see candidates parachuted into areas that they know nothing about, in my area this is happening with both conservative and labour as well.

@@TheGamesEmporium Labour also wants to tax peoples' pensions including the State Pension - again. How many times did Brown raid peoples' pensions and they want to do that again? MSM carried that story but I'm not sure which paper it was. They would also mess with kids' heads with their trans ideology, increase ULEZ which has a detrimental effect on local economies, create 15 minutes cities which would curtail our freedom to travel and many more insidious plans that would be devastating for most people. Unfortunately, the die-hard Labour supporters are too blind to see this. We must *not* let this happen. *VOTE REFORM* and stop their plans in their tracks.

Meanwhile up here in the north we've had a labour candidate parachuted into north durham all the way from oxford. Luke Akehurst, more right-wing than most tories, an ultra-zionist who has failed to get elected on his own merits a number of times. Now is a member of labours nec and handed himself a nice safe labour seat - or so he thinks. The local members are refusing to campaign for him so much so that his campaign team is now filled with 'friends of israel' and similar groups, and has a full time campaigner who is also supposed to be working full time as a councillor in Waltham Forest. The contempt the current labour party have for their own voters is disgusting.

I've never understood that about the UK, how so many MPs are carpet baggers. I bet there are some wealthy areas with 10 or more MP living within the constituency, representing other places. In the US, especially Texas, living outside the district will cost a candidate 10 or more points. There is a race in Texas now where the scandal is the candidate just bought a house in the district, after being nominated. He'll almost certainly lose.

I agree with you entirely. Candidates should be local people, not party apparatchiks. But don't forget, Farage was parachuted into Clacton as a seat in which he stands a good chance of being elected. He's already said he doesn't want to spend every Friday in Clacton. As with many candidates, he's more interested in being elected rather than representing the people who live in the constituency.

Steve Race, (Liebour Candate), from Hackney, is standing for Exeter. I'm voting for Reform UK. Hope they can knock out Liebour. Starmers not up for the job. The big parties are known for looking after their mates over the interest of the locals. I remember a certain Sebastian Coe being selected as candidate for Torbay, another, Teddy Taylor being parachuted into Southend when they already had a local man. Another character being looked after was Stan Johnson, he of Boris fame, standing as my local MP in Teignbridge with absolutely no connection to the area.

What's more concerning have you had or have new gas pipework in your area, as we moved from town gas to the North Sea gas upgrades to the underground system are touted as needed improvement work. Career politicians; go anywhere to get a job. I believe that anyone wishing to represent an area must have lived in that constituency for at least 10 years before being accepted as a candidate. Personally it doesn`t bother me too much. I`d concede it may be more beneficial to have someone local in the short-term, but anyone putting themselves forward will hopefully work hard to get to know people & the problems that affect them in that constituency. It`s all about the capability of that person & whether they can actually concentrate efforts on peoples concerns rather than go off at a tangent on irrelevant things as we have seen too many do over the years.
