"People justify with logic, but buy with emotion" - loved this line. It perfectly encapsulates the need to address both of these things in ad messaging.

Thanks! It's always helped me to look at both emotions and logic in ads!

Great content, Darren! Do you use the same framework for descriptions and sitelinks?
@darrentaylordigital4 күн бұрын
For descriptions yes! I do use the best USPs, keyword relevance and call to action, so the framework helps with that too. Also, sitelinks I tend to base them on what are the closest services to the core offering I can promote. I never use sitelinks to take people away from the core service they are looking for as it hurts conversion

Do you suggest filling in ALL headline sections and descriptions? I've seen some tutorial video's that say adding them all makes it longer for Google to figure out which is the best Ad to show. What about just adding enough so you get the "Excellent" score for the Ad, and run with that? And does having all "Excellent" Ads make a difference to Google?
@darrentaylordigital4 күн бұрын
The ad strength score doesn't mean anything in reality. Using this ads technique, sometimes they are excellent, other times they are just "good" It does take longer to learn, but it means you've provided a lot of good options with thought behind them, And it sets up for a perfect pinned content test

Awesome. 🤩 My Question: How can I utilize DKI for Ad Groups with "near me" keywords?
@darrentaylordigital3 күн бұрын
I would use location insertion instead. Check out the link in the description on how to do it.
@abu.waleed.213 күн бұрын
@@darrentaylordigital Yeah, I do the same thing. After all, DKI increases ad relevancy more than DLI, right?

Hey Darren!! Im not sure if you've already gone over this but as an agency who wants to generate leads and book quotes for my HVAC clients, is there a way for me to track and get the info of leads from google ads so that I can contact them and book the appointment myself? If so how do you set it up?
@darrentaylordigital2 күн бұрын
You need a good CRM system. If you use a CRM you can capture customers info via Google ads conversions, then track sales progress, automate follow-up and set tasks

Correct me if I’m wrong but clicks aren’t conversions. A massive increase in clicks doesn’t generally mean more sales, (not if you’re providing a service as a tradesman like myself) all it does is massively increase my spend. Yeah ok you could argue that more people visiting means more people actually using your service or converting. But from experience all it’s done for me is attract clicks from people who aren’t really looking for the exact service I provide. And I know my keywords and auction strategies etc are excellent as I’ve enough prior data to measure success. I also have the correct negative keywords to wheedle those out that are in the wrong place but still if I allow my budget to increase or spend more it doesn’t bring me anymore actual sales in the grand scheme of things. Not enough to justify the rise in budget anyway.
@darrentaylordigital4 күн бұрын
Clicks aren't conversions, but if you're using a smart bidding strategy and optimised traffic quality through negatives, then getting a bigger share of clicks from auctions you're smart bidding within anyway is a good thing. Getting more clicks from additional keywords or additional budget, or visibility focussing strategy is one thing, but getting more clicks from just having better ads is a huge boost, especially if the original ads suck

@@darrentaylordigitalI understand what you’re saying, but I’ve always had excellent quality ads. I just find now that Google has got so greedy. For example. My very first campaign I ran was a smart campaign. My maximum monthly spend was £250.00 a month. I was getting in excess of 20 conversions per day and doing crazy amounts of business. Some of this did have to do with the pandemic as during that time people had a lot more spare income. Anyway. Fast forward a couple of years and using the strategies that Google themselves showed me by learning which keywords were performing etc. I set up a new campaign because I had to. I won’t go into that but it was due to the verification. Changes. Set up search campaign and what I’ve found is the more I weed out the unwanted or wasted clicks (which as you know I have to pay for) the more they penalise my account it seems. I get less impressions. Less engagement. Also if I keep refusing their recommendations which I might add are always geared up to increase your spend with them. They knock your quality score down. The market has changed but I find even with effective ads I’m spending 3 times the amount for around a 3rd of the results clicks generate traffic but they don’t necessarily for me anyway, improve my workload. my quality score may be better and my ads are more relevant. And showing to more people, But they’re funnelling people who aren’t necessarily clicking for the right reasons so it’s just wasted budget

@@darrentaylordigital My ads consistently outperform my competition and for the last 6 years I’ve always been within the top 3 -4 usually top result but the more I’ve reduced wasted spend. The more I’ve been penalised and had to increase my spend to compete or accept their recommendations. They’ve got very greedy over there
