Btw if you want to make a mask to the entire foreground what you can also to is to - create a mask around the entire sky, using the ai mask > invert the mask > smile because it was so simple :)

This is such a valuable tutorial. So many photographers don’t realize how powerful masks can be in Lightroom. I LOVED how you used a radial to mimic sunlight. I usually do this in my photographs, but I drag the exposure up too much, I didnt realize that using dehaze makes it look so much softer and “glow”. Thank you man!!

Makes you wonder how many photos are really what the eye saw at that moment?
@bradknowles8465 ай бұрын
I mean, not really. Most of these edits are making the photo look more like what the eye saw in the moment. Cameras don't have nearly the dynamic range that the human eye does. If you want a camera that gets close to the human eye it will cost north of 100k

I know all the tools you mentioned in this one, but the part regarding mask and color tempature just blew my mind 🤯 Such an amazing idea to implement and play with the cold / wam colors. Have to apply this on my next photos, then the kids allow it :D That being said, on my normal daily images I edit them only slightly like you described the LR user in the beginning :D Thanks for sharing my friend :)

Hey! This was INSANE to watch, I am really thankful for the content and your vibe is really kind and nice :) I wanted to ask something maybe a bit dumb but I think it would be interesting for you to explore. I have my RAW archives from my Nikon D7200 (soon enough from my Sony A7CII already on its way!) so everything is supereasy to edit in LR. But how could we enhance a little bit all these photos that are "bad JPGs" that friends send us when we are having a day out or something? What is the "technical" reason for it to be that hard? I would love your point of view on this, hope it makes sense for maybe a good video :) Anyway, sending heaps of love your way

what do you think, are modern phones (pixel 8 pro for instance) are worse or ok (or even better) than cameras? is it possible to make good photo with phone? how bad is it, what are the disadvantages? I see color grading even in lightroom mobile
@thaticelandicguy8 ай бұрын
Ofc phones are great today, many of the photos I share are phone photos it's totally fine! :) But a good camera is better imo and gives you more flexibility

So masks and presets? Gotcha.

I see where you’re coming from, and sure maybe it’s that basic. But what I was trying to convey was how I use masks to shape light and guide viewers to the subject within my photos. Hope it made some sense

And also to shape the light and get that right first before working on the tones. That’s what I usually do atm ☺️
