I'm so grateful for your videos. You are by far my favorite trumpet teacher on the internet. Huge thanks from Guayaquil, Ecuador.

Agreed! I just started about two weeks back, after years of yearning. Finally got my hands on a horn and I feel these videos and supportive vibes are the exact people I want to surround myself with!

Here's something that gives almost instant improvement IMO, get adequate rest during practice sessions. You can practice more when you don't wear yourself out.

That is true! I got almost instantly better after I finished grad school because I was able to give myself more time to rest.

Bobby, I love your videos. I’m a highschool lead trumpet player in jazz and I feel like my typical long tone warm up isn’t cutting it. I would love to see a video on how to warm up to play the upper register!
@RidgewoodSchoolofMusic6 ай бұрын
Thanks! I don't think I've made a warm up video outside of the video on the parts of a good practice routine, but when I do I'll definitely include the whole register of the horn. Keep on keeping on!

I started taking online lessons from Bobby a couple months ago. It is great to watch his videos, but working one-on-one with Bobby is exponentially better.

It's sound advice, of course, and I suspect most of us knew it before watching the video. But I'm in my 60's and I don't have time to be patient. I need to improve today......now! I can't wait 10 years. I need to know the secret!! Come on, tell us the trumpet secret!!! LOL. 🤣

No secrets but many pitfalls. Do you listen to Don Fagerquist? I have his 'Music To Fill A Void' record on permanent repeat. What a tone.

Bob what I like about you is that you tell it like it is ...there is no easy way you have to do the work...and it takes time thank you for your honesty from an ex Brooklyn boy .
