They're fantastic little cars, with minimum work needed out of the box to get them running decently, which is a big part of the charm of it as a racing class - it's very approachable for beginners, but with plenty of scope for people with slot car building experience to really make something fantastic (something we really encourage for the Classic Slot Car Racing Association).

It was a shame you couldn't have stuck round longer mate! The finals got interesting - I did several step-ups to make it into the B final, before ultimately failing to step up into the A finals, and they kept leaving me green lane, so I became a bit of a specialist in the lane for the rest of the day! It really is a fantastic track, and I hope you and all of your viewers have a chance to race on it one day.

@@trackfanstv Here's hoping! I think you'd have really enjoyed racing on that track, and you'd have gotten some good racing in, we had a really good depth of skill in the racers for the event, and everyone had someone they could actively race with and have some good neck and neck battles with.

I have to say, though I'm not generally a plastic track racer (I started out on wood tracks, and still generally prefer them), I am impressed by the Policar track, and have been since I was first introduced to it at the first Policar GP and the UK Slot Car Festival at the British Motor Museum in Gaydon. To me, it's the plastic track which feels most similar to racing on a wood track, and I'm a big fan of how sturdy the track is - I think over time we're going to see that it doesn't warp as badly as other plastic slot car tracks do.

@@trackfanstv Definitely the furthest north I've been for a race, but there's ongoing discussions about possibly heading to Dumfries for a race! I must say I do love Yorkshire and Lancashire for the scenery, so these long trips are great, I just wish my dad and I had been able to stay overnight, because it was a very long day driving all the way from the Fens to Northern Raceway and back in a single day, and it would have been lovely to have a bit more time to enjoy the place itself. Ah, the perpetual complaint of racers (both scale and full size) - all you ever see is the track!
