Is a popping, or snapping sound common with active pickups, when digging into a string, using a pick, especially open low strings? I’ve been dealing with this peaking pop/snap when i track bass, using an Ibanez with actives

not a critique but i'm just curious i have a few basses with neck dives and some that don't but I've never thought about it at all until i heard about it on review videos i only hear about that on videos from people reviewing guitars and basses as if it's a bad thing but when you play it, it doesn't make a difference, when you're sitting and playing, it doesn't make a difference (or at least in my head i don't notice or think about these things) can you help me understand why people point that out?

I think it's one of those things that just bothers some people more than others

Basses with really pronounced neck dive will literally make you sore to play for any length of time. You may not notice while playing, but if your fretting hand is also holding up the neck, fighting the gravity that is trying to send the headstock to the floor, it can definitely be an issue. Using a good strap helps tremendously, and there are other ways to combat the excess weight at the headstock (lightweight tuners, adding mass to the lower bout, repositioning strap buttons, etc). Some designs are affected more than others. Try a Thunderbird sometime, especially the Epiphone versions. Cool bass, but an ergonomic nightmare.

A little skeptical about the brand, cosmetics are awesome but looking at the specs its basically same materials your gonna find in squire and sire basses but 3 times the price.

I don't get your point. Alder and maple are budget materials? The same materials that are also found in high end Fenders? Were you referring to the electronics? The hardware looks to be towards the upper end of standard fare. Just not sure what you're being critical of here.

On the website it said nato on the Baum guitar which is used on most squires. Not trying to be too critical cause I haven't played one but was just a bit unimpressed with the price compared to the specs.

@@blaksunshine100 that price point your just reaching boutique guitar territory. For a similar price point to their basses you can find smaller companies like offbeat guitars, bass mods, bite guitars, a cheaper kiesel. Or for some bigger companies you can find American fenders, ricks. Indonesia basses like Baum actually have really good quality control from my experience, like some of the Ibanez and Jackson pros you get good tone woods, through necks, nordstrand or bartolini electronics and cheaper then Baum still
