They'll have to wait for one fo the Chinese OEMs to come out with it first, talk big for half a year about getting the same feature out to their flagships, fail, wait another half a year, pretend like its still new technology and promote it as their own idea again. Just look at Under The Display Fingerprint Sensors. Came out on Vivo at the end of 2017. Was a big deal in China all this year. Still a no show from Samsung but they are talking about getting it in S10 again for 2019. Foldable phones were developed by Lenovo (Lenovo Folio/C Plus) back in 2016. Samsung teased it a few months later like it was their idea. Cut to 2018 ZTE released the Axon M already, Huawei's planning on getting one out, Xiaomi rumors say it has one in the works too. Samsung teases their foldable phone for 2019.

Imagine if the screen is off, you can see camera lenses underneath the clear glass screen... like you're kind of wearing eyeglasses or Mirrored-sunglasses while the screen is on. And then while on camera mode, some pixels are turned off in shape of a front-facing camera... which is kinda crazy and puzzling to invent on such display.

When I had my iPhone 6 apple did the update to ruin the battery, when I went to have it replaced at the apple store they treated me terribly, I then paid out my contract which was $300, and got the iPhone 8, 4-5 months In i had nothing but problems with it and i had the warranty, i was taking it to apple every second weekend, and they wouldn't do anything about it. So I traded my iPhone 8 for a Samsung s8 plus, and I have not had a single problem since, there hasn't been a day i have regretted it. I cant even imagine using an iPhone again. I love the features of Samsung. The Samsung s6 has more and better features than the newest iPhone. Samsung had face ID for two years longer than apple, apple kept the same design from the iPhone 6/6plus to the 8/8plus, Samsung changes it every year. iPhone just got wireless charging as of the iPhone 8 and up, Samsung has had it since the Samsung s6. Android is the way to go. I will never go back to apple.

Not having a nite means your hand will always be covering some part of the screen. Also when watching videos like this one on my iPhone 7 Plus if there was not notch I wouldn’t be able to securely hold my phone without blocking the screen in some sort of way. I think the “we want a notch less phone” thing is just people being in grateful. Who wants yo walk around with just a glass screen how will you use phone cases? How happy will you be if you phone falls and now you have a chip, scratch, or a crack of some sort? Yes it may look cool and have some futuristic vibe but logically unless it’s a flexible phone to minimize the damage from falling the notch or bezel is necessary. (My opinion so don’t cry)

For me bezels are fine but the notch is not. I still use my iphone 6s to this day, which is essentially the first generation of all these new thin phones and it still works great on just about everything I need. Sure the battery has gotten worse over time but I still can hold enough a charge to get through my day. It’s not a perfect phone (I’ve had plenty of problems on it). But it still holds it’s own to this day. I’m not one to praise apple or fanboy over them but this phone is practical, lightweight and fast enough to (barely) hold up to software nearly 4 generations ahead of itself. THATS a quality product. What they’ve been releasing nowadays is less about the practical use of a phone and more about style. “Ooh you can track your face to an emoji” and “Pretty notches” all while removing the beloved headphone jack I still get to enjoy. If you think about it not much has changed with apple since the iphone 6. And in some ways has been made worse. No headphone jack so have fun listening to tunes while charging, glass all around so have fun cracking it to repair it at absurd costs. Added notches so now doing anything outside of IOS functions leaves you with backlit off pixels on the side of your screen. And in modern IOS they somehow made it harder to kill background processes than before. The only be benefit I see is getting a new gen phone over this one is better hardware and camera with are both already fine to begin with in my phone for what it is.

hes talking about the ugly receiding hairline looking NOTCH. i think you're talking about bezels (the frames on the top and bottom of the screen). bezels are fine and most people like them. myself included. the notch is the lil bump hairline on top that sticks out into the screen and breaks the image of it. its very ugly and has always looked cheap to me.

In regards to front facing audio, I've been looking for anything even HINTING at embedded speakers within the space between the screen and the rest of the phone. From a software API pov this is not difficult, as you can make a design that calls the top and left side of your phone (in portrait, single handed) as that respective channel while the right and bottom of your phone works as the "right channel" with software that can look at the orientation of your screen as the guide for what parts of the array to "turn on" at one time

Hey unbox therapy! First, I would like to say I love your videos! I have been looking at quite a few smart phones lately. I find some ,but I also like to order from Amazon, so the selection can be very limited at times. The most important features in a smartphone to me include a large screen (6.2"-6.4"+) , wireless charging, good display, obviously a decent processor, and a kick ass camera, splitscreen(camera and screen being at the top of the list)..and of course it has to he budget friendly (preferably under 350$-300$). Here lately I have found a few newer release smartphones, but,just so happens there are minimal reviews. Among my top choices I have ; Huawei mate 20 lite, Huawei Nova 3i (which isn't as good ,but nicer looking) , the new BLU vivo xi+ (wireless charging & fast charge), and oppo k1( 6.4" AMOLED or super AMOLED depending on where you look with an in-screen fingerprint reader), and Vivo v9 (which is ok) . Anyways, I was wondering if maybe you could cover some of these smartphones especially the oppo k1,or, some that are similar with features that normally are seen on flagship devices. I tend to spend a lot of time scouring the internet for phones that peak my interest. I have seen quite a few others as well, but these are almost mysterious in their lack of information / misleading or not matching info. I figured if anyone could give a thourough review of these type of devices ,it would be you😀

SAMSUNG are innovators and once their screen is out on their new device for a couple of years and waiting for their competitors to catch up and wait to buy their screens . people going to say wow samsung phones look the "same bla blah blah" while other manufactures barely implementing Samsung screens but they would start getting praised .. like (galaxy s6 s7 s8 s9 and note serious) they designed those beautiful screens but got bashed because they looked the same but once competitors copied their look 2 years later they get prasied lol.. glad samsung didnt go with that ugly notch while basically all android phones jumped on the bandwangon with ugly notch

I am a notch hater. I hear people saying that after some time you will get used to it and it looks cools.I say NO. I am using oneplus 6 and I have disabled the notch from the very first day. whenever I enable the notch, I just feel like looking at something ugly. Bt thanks to freedom of android(sorry ios users, you wont have it), I can hide the notch and still use that black part for time and carrier info and notification.

In a few years we'll all scoff at how silly notches looked. Our eyes like symmetry. Studies show that people trust symmetrical faces more than asymmetrical faces. This aesthetic applies to phones too - I simply don't like the lack of balance. All the notched phones of today have tiny chins with big notches, or small notches with large chins etc. The most aesthetically pleasing phone design in my opinion is still the Galaxy S8 and S9. The balance is perfect. I'd trade the notch for a small forehead and chin any day, even if we never figure out how to get the camera under the display.

My condolences to you guys. Because you know this isn't Samsung's first time calling someone else's design their own. Under The Display cameras were announced by a few different Chinese OEMs like half a year ago set for release in 2019. But Samsung also teased foldable phones right? Like 2016's Lenovo Folio? Or how about the 2.5D curved glass panel that made holding an S7 Edge much easier than the S6 Edge? Like the same one found on the Mi Note release a year earlier. Since China's saying those cameras under the display are set for 2019 it means Samsung's probably going to get theirs out to you guys at the earliest 2020.

Samsung's current infinity display is the best solution to the not-quite-bezeless phone. The side bezels are gone, and the top/bottom bezels are thin and unobtrusive. I've got a black case on my Note 8, and the top/bottom bezels visually blend into the case like they're not there. It's not quite bezeless, but it's basically close enough.

To me its not about apple or Samsung its what each individual wants to have, i love android and Samsung phones in general because i like my movies and games whole not with a cut out on the side, i also still use a headphone jack, yes its 2018 call me weird and old school i don't care but i just want my Headphone experience to never change, call me a Samsung fanboy that's fine i'm just who wants a Samsung flagship phone that offers so many options like fast charging fresh out of the box, the option of adding an SD card for those who want a lot of pictures (seriously having a 512GB SD card on your 512GB base phone removes your worries of ever getting full memory storage), and lastly most of my friends and family members use android, and don't get me wrong apple fanboys your apple phones are good for what they are, this is just me saying i want what i always have and more to what i already have.

Samsung has way better low lighting since its the first and only camera with a dual adjustable aperture so it can adjust for low light just like the human pupil can. Also its not the first for 4k HDR. Again not true. Samsung will be first phone with 5g speeds. Again all of your claims are completely false. And some of them are flat out meaningless vague comments like "pro selfie" lmao. There is almost no phone that's water proof idiot. They are water resistant.
