I verified the SR, this guy is indeed Masters. In his defense, people in higher rating shoot back more so a lot of his gameplay looks worse when he had some good moments that game, it was not super well played for sure though.

In this guys defense, he had solid position and awareness which really carry you a long way. He had some other fights in this game where he did pretty well, it was still solid gameplay for the most part, the reason it looks worse than a lot of lower ranks is because the other team in this case did play really good aswell.

Lol I'm a plat mercy main and like it is so annoying when someone always wants you on them, like I had this one ashe who was really good and I was pocketing them 90 percent of the time but the moment I fly over to heal the Winton and reaper who both jump on the whole team he is like "WHy aRe YOu hEalINg thE tAnk WhEn Ana CaN do ThAt ." I mean the only reason I healed them was because they are low so clearly she can't keep up with both of them

I'm really bad with them too but to simplify, you should only really push the button if you see someone out of cover that will not have time to get back into cover by the time u kill them. Sounds simple, is very hard to do, in this case when the Soldier nanod the Ana, it was a good Visor if he commits on the ana and does not turn around for the turret, risky cuz he may die to turret but in this game, he popped Visor, then realized the turret was shooting him so he turned to turret for a second which was enough time for the Ana to get behind new cover. Kinda hard to see in the cut up version of this!

@metro do u ever feel that not just u, but soldier as a hero cause of the off-angles he takes dies a lot? i have this problem where i do 90+% of the time have the most damage but i usually have the most deaths in the lobby too...i was watching akward and he too seemed to me like he was dying more on average than the rest of the team...any thoughts?

It’s easy to do most damage as soldier he has poke long range and can shred tanks with his output. You’re dying a lot cause he’s also a very challenging character to be in position with.

Also, regarding awkward. You likely aren’t anywhere close to his elo so him dying more in one or two games you saw doesn’t mean anything it’s different level of opponents. Your style also probably isn’t the same as his. You may play a more passive soldier but you’re dying because of bigger mistakes.

Soldier is not a very good hero right now, especially in this Meta. He is just inferior to Hanzo, Widow and Ashe, especially on long distance. I do think he just needs a buff. I think the reason Blizz is not buffing him is because he does well in very low ranks cuz of Visor being auto aim and very low rank players being out of position, so he's just in a very tough spot right now.

All these gold and plat noobs saying “I play better than that!” Hahaha No you don’t, that’s why you’re in plat… You’re so bad you don’t even see that this player isn’t making the classic mistakes you see at low elo, but I’ll go ahead and tell them to you noobs. He isn’t overextending. He isn’t trying to win fights that are already lost. His positioning is very good. He isn’t using his ult when 2 people are already dead. He isn’t always playing with his team and instead is trying to get angles. This is masters. Where you don’t make stupid mistakes like players in low elo but your aim needs work and you aren’t maximizing 100% of your hero.

I'm a masters 1 soldier player and this guy doesnt seem to belong in masters. Inconsistent aim, poor decision making, lack of entry picks, often was the first one picked, possibly poor attitude towards his supports, failed to secure easy kills, took extremely aggressive positioning at times for masters. There was times he took duels where he could've easily played close to cover and instead ran out in the open with no escape route or corner to peek. Not everybody that disagrees with your opinion is bad
