Hi, I'm the Sombra who submitted this vod and I actually learned a lot from this. (I didn't even know EMP killed mei ult), but the main thing I will most definitely try to get into backlines more often, and between that I would try the other heroes you talked about. (Also clarification, when I was talking about the genji, it wasn't ME specifically asking them to swap, rather it was the rest of the team. When I asked my team if I should swap at any point, they said I was doing fine on Sombra, until the defense round where I went bastion, they asked me to be Bastion. I was in no way dissin the genji, lmao and I hope that clears things up)

Sombra should still play similarly to how she used to play back when she had permastealth. The only difference now is you need to set up better and play around the map more dynamically rather than just freely getting to stand out in the open (while invisible of course) in front of their team waiting for your teams engage. She is still the same hero she used to be if not slightly better since she now does more damage to a hacked target. The biggest change now is you need to have plan when it's time to get out and leave the engage if you don't secure the kill.

I'm surprised they didn't mention Soldier, that would be a good fit as well. Bastion, Cass, Soldier, maybe some others would be good, you can pressure at the ranges you tended to play in the video. Don't be scared to experiment, especially in quick play!

To be fair that has to be relatively new because i have played since launch of OW1 and it only ever canceled it if you disrupted it as she cast the ult not after it was on the floor.

A tip for sombra is it’s fine to play like Cassidy u making sure u doing smth in the game but if u see a support or squishy u can easily kill then go for it and make sure u always doing smth as sombra even the act of just distracting them it still helps the team (just shoot from a afar that can distract them and give the rest of your team an advantage) just always make sure your doing smth for the team that’s all of sombra

They did clarify in a comment, they asked their team if they should swap and was told they're fine to stay sombra. And the bastion swap was at the request of their team. And the team was asking genji to swap, not them

Even with the changes, Sombra can be invisible 80% of the time. The rhythm that I've found success with is translocate to high ground, position or wait until the cooldown is almost back, do a small burst of damage and then translocate out to a health pack and let stealth time out somewhere safe. Repeat.

I am SOOOO tired of them being in every third lobby regardless of comp (silver/gold tbf) or quick play. Shes not that good anymore. She can delete a squishy here or there but then she gets rolled eventually no matter what you do. Her old playstyle isnt viable against anyone with ears lol

I agree that this Sombra (mechanics wise) seems better than bronze! They did really well when they did the backline sombra thing, I was very impressed for bronze. Also, if you're a one trick, mind your own damn business who other people play ;) Other than that though, I'm sure they can climb out quickly!! As in, if you don't see results in like a week or two, check back in with your playstyle. Good luck :D

TBH what I do with Sombra is avoid using the Translocator to move to the backline so much and use more like, strealth to get to places. So I can have it ready to run away form the team fight

Something else about the "Genji should switch" thing here, bronze or silver is low enough that your teammates are almost certainly not the thing holding you back. The level of teamwork and mechanical skill/game knowledge on average is low enough that a Diamond player could probably get to high Silver or higher one-tricking DPS Mercy. That's not to say someone can't be pretty decent at some of the above and still be stuck, but you pretty much *have* to be missing something about your own play to be stuck in Bronze (or just be bad mechanically and not wanting to invest the time to improve, which fair enough).

I wasn’t really paying attention to the Genji but while I think he probably should’ve switched you should have yourself and you probably could’ve won

I think they need to plan that virus while/before hacking a bit more. They're delaying a lot after the hack, enough that the ability lockout would have reset and where all the enemies are has shuffled around so they can't hit the hacked person anyways a lot of the time.

A big reason I watch emongg vod reviews (and honestly hate Flats reviews unless he is roasting an ego player) is because emongg doesn’t put expectations on low elo players to make top500 plays. I find it redundant to focus on a players bad aim when they are probably well aware and it is not something that can be instantly fixed. Emongg also still focuses on what players do right and encourages those plays while explaining WHY it was a good play. These vids have helped me greatly so appreciate it Emongg!

Usually in bronze supports are most skillful players. I don't use hack anymore to supports and DDs. Cast time (1sec) is so long and they react to that sound very quickly and in that time you make ~200dmg + Virus dot (75). So you don't need that 20% DMG boost. And it is very hard hit them after hack and usually they get help even. 1.0 second ability disable time is joke and usually they use their ability's during hack's cast time anyway. And often they go out of hack range when they hear hacking sound.

If you are playing sombra and your team is engaged, enemy squishies are losing health and you get no picks, then you are the problem. Simple as that. Ideally you can solo 1 full hp player per fight at least. But if ypu can't even kill people after they have taken damage then you're just throwing.

the juno at the end should have used ult the second soldier used ult. prior to the mei ult and maybe they would have picked the mei before she used ult or it could have given rein some confidence to ult.

Yeah... Juno had Orbit for quite a while, tragic to lose the round while having Orbit. Not only that, but I'm pretty sure she should have had speed ring available and just didn't use it. With speed ring, Bastion would have 100% gotten out of the Blizzard, idk about the others but yeah. I think she may not have needed to Orbit when you said, since Rein did a good job actually shielding it off (Genji died but that's probably on him), but definitely shortly after when the enemy started actually pushing. Definitely by the time Blizzard happened, since losing to Blizzard means losing the game.

I don’t play OW as much since she got slaughtered by her “rework”, but even still my winrate on her is barely worse. It was 72% and now it’s 65%. So yes, she’s not particularly fun and it takes forever to setup, but she’s still good at what’s she’s good at

Ok like Otp can't complain about other Otp, and yes he was better on Bastion than Sombra, but let's be honest this is bronze and i spent my time watching the Genji, and even while he was on Sombra he would have win if wasn't for that Genji, it is already hard to carry 1 less player on all ranks now imagine on bronze, even when he switched to Bastion the Genji was doing nothing but dying. On their round of Atk i was 100% watching Genji and ho my god the guy literally did nothing, he didn't even got assist on his teammates huge plays, i beat he was missing all of his M1 and M2

Honestly for anyone struggling with the new Sombra just watch how any of the T500 dps players are playing her. Some examples are Samito and Fitzy. Both of them understand how to work around the way her kit works now.
