I enjoy this song in general, but the highlight for me is really just how they chose to make the chorus a duet . The rest of the song I feel the music is alright, the lyrics are sexy but nothing that impresses me (though I was curious enough to look up whether it had been written by Martin or Dave, due to the more aggressive manner of them), but that bit really does raise it a lot for me. Especially since Martin's lines bring out more of the blues styling while Dave's don't so much.

My second favourite from "Delta Machine". The real meaning is perceptible in the official video. Desire, love, lust, temptation & sex. What a awesome vibe the beat has and the guitar riffs remind me of "Personal Jesus".

This song has a video clip, you need to react to the video of this and that of Freelove del Exciter. For me, I have to say that Delta Machine seems like a great album, among my favorite songs on the album are the dark Secret To The End, Should Be Higher and Alone, I also really like Angel, Welcome to My World, and another quite dark song instrumentally and at the same time it sounds very mechanical with the arpeggios is All That's Mine that you will soon have to react to that B-Side

Great reaction seph. I think it's time for new headphones. With better crossover separation. That should show the difference between the background and the singing. I think the song is about his addiction to his woman . Be prepared for harsh dark mode on spirit 😂

Maybe his voice sounds strange because it is not his voice. It is voice of Martin Gore (first one is Dave and second one is always Martin).

There was no auto tune or effect on the voices. Dave and Martin are going back and forth singing. I think Martin is the voice you believe is auto tuned. You should watch the music video too. I think the song is about a strong lust. The line, " my body's hungry" works when Dave says it. 😂 It would work if Martin said it too ( he wrote the song), but not for the average guy using that line.

Interesting fact, songs musical vibe, specially chorus is influenced by Personal Jesus. As I remember, I could be wrong, in 2013 in some interview one of DM members (maybe Martin) told that they done this song with Personal Jesus vibe to better sell it as a single. In chorus first sings Dave then Martin and they repeat. Also this autotunny stuff might be a crunch effect which DM overuse since Playing the angel,no surprise, since it Delta Machine was produced by same producer as Playing the Angel and Sound of the Universe

Hi seph😄 Nice to see you smiling like that at the beginning😄😄 Some fans was mentioning that this is (or was) some strange version of Personal Jesus. I mean, rythm-like maybe😬 And some journalist in those time where talking about rape or stalking.😬 I never thinked to mutch about all that, and enjoyed this song from the very first moment as what it is: a good DM Song witch makes me shake behind the wheel😅😊

theres an effect on their voices in this song. And it's *heavy* I'm not 100% if it's full on auto tune, but it's an effect that give's the same results, makes me sad to hear it as i love Dave's and martin's (pure) voices :D

Okay, this "only one way" hand gesture here. (2:26) Umm... 😯 Your family watches this! 😉 "I'm coming for you. My body's hungry. I'm coming for you. Like a junkie." Oh, no... I thought for sure this cringeworthy line was written by Dave, but nope, I just looked it up. It was Martin. Really fascinating to watch the twists and turns in your reaction. First there was the giddy titillation of the overtly sexualized lyrics and driving beats. Then some hesitation with the realization that this could be interpreted as non-consensual. Back to a happy dance as you were feeling the song's erotic nature and hi-energy beats. Finally positing two distinct interpretations, either an overwhelming lust for a lover or an intruder's assault. And then for the ultimate twist, you preferred the subversive intruder interpretation likening it to their darkest material that initially attracted you to the band. But found fault with the autotune effect on the vocals. I think I got whiplash from that one! It fascinates me that you like this dark, subversive side of the band, because you otherwise present as very wholesome, even chaste. But that's just it. We all contain multitudes, don't we? Just another reason why I enjoy your channel. You always keep me guessing. You're an enigma, man. Btw, you could totally take Dave, dude. 💪

Dave covered this questionable subject matter in "Deeper and Deeper" from his Hourglass album. He takes a far more direct approach than Martin. Two sides of the same coin, if you're into that kind of thing. 😘

“Dark mode”, - it will have started since the moment you’ll finish Delta Machine, and it will be dark. I know that people don’t like Spirit (not me, though to be honest it’s very specific), but it’s worth listening anyway. Lyrics is such unpleasant sometimes (on purpose), that it’s hard to listen again (especially the last three songs). Now you’re close to the album’s end, but I warn: the ending sounds like a big joke. Seems like instead of this Martin could just say: “Well, my friend, you did it! Emm, goodbye”.

@@SephPlays Have you ever heard the demo version of "Nothing's Impossible"? It's another B-side off SOTU. I recall you weren't keen on Dave's voice being so distorted and monotone on the original. If you haven't yet, give it a listen! I think you might change your tune on that tune! It's amazing live as well.
