My favourite song ever!! 🔥🔥 Not many reactions for it, I'm so excited. I love how he sings in waves, and the instrumental just crushes you

Vessel's voice is absolutely mesmerizing. The richness and texture of his voice is unreal. He could read a restaurant menu, and I'd be entranced, but the fact that his lyrics are also so beautifully written and have so much emotional depth and meaning is icing on the cake.

That scream at the end was a continuation of his scream in the beginning of that last part “I can’t hold myself together!” Genius!

Lyrically, Vessel is unmatched. Lyrically almost every single song is devastatingly sad. Another reaction video I watched the guy had to rewind a part he said “that didn’t hurt me enough” so he had to play it back 🤣. I’m loving your videos. I’m excited for you to hear all the Sleep Token songs. Worship! 🖤

Something I love about this outro - the ending part eerily feels like drowning (under the waves of the High Water). The held notes on the guitar are the moments that you are above the waves, only for a moment getting a breath, then back to the rhythmic part as you are battered below the surface against the rocks, trying to get that next breath. And then, it finally closes with Vessel screaming into the reverb/space, fading into focus as the listener is slowly pulled deeper as the reality sets in, until suddenly, abruptly, it all sits still. Quiet. Worship!

This song weaves in the ocean theme of the album. Sweeping us underneath the tumultuous and turgid waves and drowns us as the rip tide of his emotions take us out to sea.

The instruments lend to that drowning feeling I think his lyrics convey. When I think of despair that outro really nails that feeling. The album name “this place will become your tomb” is such a raw description for the range of emotions that the whole album gives. Like a warning.

Great video as always man! This is my all time favorite song. It's also the song that summed up how I felt about my divorce, to the T. This song really hurts for me in a super cathartic way. No matter how hard I find it to get through this song, like a moth to a flame I always come back. Sorry for rambling, I hope you loved this one as much as I do. Thanks!

Man I love this song so much... That distorted scream at the end is actually the delay effect still going on the tail end of one of the distorted vocal layers that happened one minute earlier ("I can't hold myself together"). If you listen to the end of that line you already hear it starting. they just faded it out, let it keep going and brought it back up towards the end - would be my educated guess.

This song is very emotional. You pretty much hit on the story Vessel has weaved for our pleasure. It's personal for him and I am thankful he was brave enough to turn his torment into poetry and performance art. God bless this band and the man in the driver's seat (Vessel). I saw someone wants you to react to MINE from the same album as this song. That's a lovely song also. I suggest reacting to MINE, HYPNOSIS, LIKE THAT, THE LOVE YOU WANT (has a music video) ALKALINE ( also has a video, not a visualizer), CHOKEHOLD, AQUA REGIA, THE APPARITION, Older songs too like THE OFFERING, DARK SIGNS, HIGHER, SUGAR, TAKE AIM and DRAG ME UNDER. Lol any one you chose is 🔥🔥🔥. Great reaction. Til next time....✌️ Worship ❤

An interesting thing about the lyric “I can hold my breath forever.” Is that there are 2 ways to look at it. Either he’s about to go find that buried history, or he IS the buried history.

I believe that is indeed Vessel’s voice layered in that mid part (“you’ll never bear the weight of two”). He has an incredible falsetto voice. And it’s definitely a distorted scream at the end. I’m also on the High Water is UP THERE on my list of favorites bandwagon. If you like the instrumental aspect, you should know that there are instrumental versions of (almost) all songs from the Sundowning and This Place Will Become Your Tomb albums, so you can even go listen to it without Vessel’s voice! Love love love this song, but honestly it’s way better in the context of the album. It hits really hard when listening to it that way.
