Using music and entertainment as a medium to promote peace while appealing to continue following Covid-19 guidelines, the GIZ Civil Peace Service in Uganda has reached the most remote communities - even those without access to radio.
“This song is magic!” gushes G-Wills, producer, artist and rapper from Karamoja, Uganda’s most remote and conflict-ridden region. “All our best artists have collected here. It’s a song about peace and covid, so why shouldn’t it have an impact?”
With the launch of the Epali Song by the Karamoja All Stars - which translates to Tranquility - GIZ/CPS’ Covid campaign is phasing out with what is anticipated to be a number one hit across Northern Uganda.
