Hey guys, sorry about the ramble at the beginning of the video about whether to go for the trading post ^^ What do you think of this Spain currently in the balance? I think they're top tier, probably a bit below Sweden and Japan, probably on par with Germany / France etc. What do you think?

clearly ur enemy is not playing well (british whit 150 points in 14 minutes and 20 musk and 2 falcs XD what a joke he can do perfectly 200/200 in this minute ) , in real game u are dead , 12 minutes whitout a real army... any player can beat u whit one hand making mass and atack u just when u up to IV , this strategy who nobody use since receive a big nerf and before that because is to easy counter whit age 3 army mass and predictable strategy just seeing ur deck

I think Spain overall, is still in a fine place in the meta, although I regret somewhat that all Spanish strats are rushes of one sort or other. I wish they had a stronger water boom option. Spain was one of the leading naval powers for much of the AoE3 time period (for far longer than Portugal, in fact) and I'd appreciate if the game acknowledged that. On a side note, I have never seen a pro player really use unction in a match. Why is this? Does it kick in too late for the current rushy Spanish meta or does it suck too much APM from the combat units to be feasible? Do you have any ideas?

@@vladimirlagos2688 Unction is too slow. There is also a spanish water build that Fitz played against. should check it out

@@vladimirlagos2688i think spain water is quite good actually. They have armada in age 3 and good galeos( which no one use). Also logistician is good in mixture with water boom. You send scooner during transtion then 300 wood ( i know 700 is better but 300 faster) and then you can send fish card and eco theory.

I really appreciate that you shared this strategy that caused the devs to nerf Spain. I wasn't aware of it, but even with the nerf it looks solid strong against more boomy civs. I don't think I have the APM yet to pull it off efficiently on a ladder match, but it sure is something to aspire to eventually.

I have a question, to anyone that has an answer. Is Nizam Fusiliers viable? In general, i havent seen anyone use them. And its a shame since there is an Age 4 infinate shipment (that you can spam late game).

I found them too expensive for what they are, and since the Ottomans are a rush civ, you're not gonna reach age 4 in most games

Great vid! Can I ask something here: I have always found the default 'Blue' colour option too jarring for my eyes. What is the HSV value for the 'Blue' colour in your Options >> Accessibility menu?

The player named "Gaia" has probably taken his name idea from AoE 2. Gaia is the name for the environment in AoE 2 (you can see it in the map editor) and "controls" all the animals on the map. There is even a cheat code so that you become "Gaia" as a player in AoE 2. And your 2nd pronunciation of the word was right :).

I'm new to any AOE game, wanted to try this strategy. I read the written guide and i already dont know what to do in the beginning. It says to make a market, research HD and age up click at 2:55 with 15 settlers. How is that possible? you dont start with gold for your HD research so you need to find a treasure and if you use your wood for a market you need to gather wood for a house to hit 15 settlers. And after all that you still need to make 15 settlers and get food for age up in 2:55? Am i just not seeing something or did they change something since the written guide was released?

i think before nerf spain or any other civ they should nerf OP tier S+ sweden again but nerf them so hard and don't touch it again never more

You cannot stay alive with 8 crossbows and 2 falconets at minute 9:30. Good strategy maybe in the Browse Lobby section or if the opponent is elo 800...

Bro wtf lol. People can’t even enjoy this game slow and chill? Everyone just FAST Strats it’s insane. When I was a kid I use to play this on PC before I had internet and now that I’m an adult I’m trying to finally play and enjoy it just for a bunch of Sweats and fast paced dudes. RIP the dream I had.
