I did a gym battle and put a regular Heracross in there and when I came back there were 3 green shinys hanging out with it (Dragonite, schizer, and Espion). Made it look like I ruined the theme when I was in fact just there first. Though I don't think I even have a green shiny anyways tho so rip

I put slaking in gyms usually since it’s one of the highest CP but useless in pvp/raids (I think) UNLESS! I notice there’s a certain color everyone else is going for, for instance I see a lot of pink gym defenders like blissey granbull shiny wobuffet etc so I’ll try to match

I put my frigibax in gyms and then throw berries at it whenever I remember to so I can occasionally get the free candy from it. I've gotten around 10 candies from doing that the last couple weeks

Please don't laugh, I am an older and a bit of a slow learner at PoGo also did not play over 4 years. We get candies for feeding our pokemon in gyms? Seriously? I have had an aerodactyl in a gym for 18 days and a slacking in another for a week. I gave up giving candies because I want to be knocked out but the placement of a good Pokémon that I need candy for... I would feed that pokemon 3x a day! Does it matter which berries? Can I just toss in a gold or a silver? I need to check this out.!

@@lesliemandic9673 if you just feed it 10 berries that aren't golden razz it won't restore it's hp so still is easy pickings to get knocked out. You can feed a poke 10 berries every 30 mins if you are so keen (+500xp and +300dust every time you do it and works towards your berry master medal). I have employed the Frigibax strategy outlined above along with a couple others I need candy for.

@@lesliemandic9673 It's a pretty low chance (I would guess around 1%) but if you have a bunch of extra berries (any type is fine, doesn't have to be gold or silver) then you can give 10 at a time every half hour. Plus you get 30 stardust for each berry you give so that adds up. I always get rid of my extra nanab and razz berries this way instead of just throwing them away

Still need to get knocked out of these 2 gyms.. I noticed tonight that I could have taken a few more unpowered gyms in my little town I guess ite the season but no one was playing tonight. Weird. Its community day sat so hopefully I can get displaced.

For casual gym drop-ins, shiny wynaut is my signature defender - I have six. If they are all busy, probably another shiny. If I care about staying in a gym long-term, Chansey or Wobuffet. If I care about staying in a gym short-term, Blissey.

Answering your question early in the video: My default gym-defense Pokémon is a shiny Porygon-Z I evolved from its Community Day ages ago. It’s nearly 3000CP just via evolution, so I guess it stuck out due to being high on my list constantly & ended up filling that role.

Strange question: every since Nick started ending the videos with "slapping" the camera and adding the, I assume, famous Johnny Test slap sound effect, I've started doing the same. Essentially, I'm making the sound effect with my mouth while I fake slapping the camera on my laptop to make it seem like I'm giving Nick a high five. 1) Is that weird? 2) Anyone else do this?
