I’ve made several recipes because I have an Asian daughter in law …and frankly everyone loves Asian cuisine….i am definitely going to try the spice blend recipe…I often use furikake so this will be a change

I dehydrate my shiitake to add them later to ramen. I add the stalks in the dehydrator and they are usually too hard to rehydrate easily, so I powder them. I'm going to try the umami powder. What a great idea!❤

Looks good! I'd saute the mushrooms before the other veggies, and let them get nice and dark brown, with most of the water cooked off. This intensifies the flavor and texture of the mushrooms!

I made this tonight. I used pre-mixed umamai powder and I didn't have chili oil. (I added crushed chilis to the oil instead step(s) where chili oil was called for) But otherwise faithful to this recipe. It is sooooo delicious and easy.thank you!

I had never heard of this brand until you introduced it to me. I love my Vitamix. I've had mine for over 23 years. At one point I was going to get another one when they came out with the larger container but all I had to do was buy the container. Vitamix is the BEST!!!!!!! And you are the best even if I'm not a vegetarian

>popcorn Shiitakes / donggu can cause dermatitis if eaten raw, so I guess you can add it to the cooking oil before the kernels pop but probably not after the kernels are already popped. ... Then again I'm not sure if this applies to dried donggu, and I guess you could also just toast the dried mushrooms in the oven or something before adding them to the mix...

I made this and it is so delicious. I think I pulled of the prep and cooking pretty well, but it isn't really a hard recipe. The only thing I had trouble with was the tofu sticking to the pan really badly, so I wasn't able to give it a lot of color before it started flaking apart.

Replacing egg with tofu is so important; you've got to have the texture & protein for a good rice dish. I use an old coffee grinder for spices, & am v. jelz of that Vitamix!

Easy to prepare, very tasty and vegan! This brought me to your channel and I look forward to every new recipe you bring. Not to mention the beautiful way your cooking is filmed and presented. The umami seasoning mix is a nice addition to a lot of dishes (I would leave out the kombu cos I don't like the taste and smell of seaweed, but that's just me)

I love your recipes! Thnks especially for not using MSG. I am deathly allergic to it-- as are many other people. It's in practically everything processed and used even in Italy now-- home cooks use chicken or vegetable cubes to add flavour to tomato sauce-- I've become ill at the home of a relative...
