💑 About Hercules Candy
Hercules Candy has been on Steve’s side of the family since 1910(ish). When he took over in the 70’s, he anticipated after 10 years of hard work, he could move the business out of the basement and into a real storefront. Unfortunately, it took until 2018 for that to happen, but hey at least it happened! Steve and Terry own the shop, Craig (the social media manager) is their son, Cara (wrapper and shipper extraordinaire who is poised to take over the shop one day) is their daughter and Leah (who doesn’t love being on camera and is very elusive) is their oldest daughter. Karen has been working for Hercules Candy since the twins (Craig and Cara) were about 6 months old and everybody else is a new recruit. Don’t forget to subscribe and hit the 🔔 for more videos!

Thank you for sharing! I've never seen a candy store like Stever's before, it's almost magical! Unfortunately, for myself, the shipping cost is incredibly high. I understand not only for Hercules and Stever's, but for just about anything you have shipped today. The candy prices are fair and I hope to someday have the opportunity to try some of these amazing treats. Ty

I see a few parallels with small family confectioners in Japan, except they get busy around New Year's Eve/Day for traditional sweets, and Valentine's Day and Christmas for Western sweets (cakes and such). Cramped work places, fascinating specialized tools, and incredible sugary sweet stuff packaged everywhere.

From observing people, it seems like there are certain "slots" that people fit into. Certain stereotypes or "roles" exist in multiple areas, like this couple who live not far away from Terry and Steve and also have a chocolate company. It's weird! It also happens on science. There are almost always two scientists who discover something at the same time, but only one is known for it. Darwin, for example, had a rival named Alfred Wallace who also "discovered" evolution.

Great visit with another candy company. Boy they sure do make a lot of candy. Enjoyed the visit as I’m sure you and your parents did to. When I lived in Lexington, Ky., there was a small candy shop on a street right off main. We’d get off the bus on our way to go to the movie theater. It was run by 2 little old ladies who made all the candy themselves. They made a candy that was in the shape of a small square. I can’t remember the flavor, but I’m thinking it was a cream de’ mint flavor and it was a very light shade of green and not over powering mint flavor, just enough. We could only afford to buy a small bag of it, but what a treat. And while watching the movie and eating our popcorn, we’d savor the taste of each piece as it would melt so easily in your mouth. It is closed now, but I sure do miss that candy. Yum.
