Mrs. H. sang "Thunder and Lightning"! That's Knock on Wood. Now, I'll have that song in my head for a day...Eddie Floyd & Otis Redding sang it, back in the day...Then, Amii Stewart covered it in 1979...📻 🎼🎵🎶 God bless you two and your loved ones...

We harvested our cushaw today. One was split, so we cooked it today. It was 30" long, 31 1/2" around and weighed 18.05 lbs. We took seeds out, halved the big end, roasted in oven with avocado oil, salt, pepper and garlic powder... when it was done, we scraped it into a bowl and added butter, and sour cream. It tastes like a baked potato... but healthier! The neck section, we peeled, cubed and roasted in oven with a little avocado oil, pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon and brown sugar Splenda. After they got tender, we added butter and mashed it all together...it was so good. Like sweet potatoes! We left our biggest in our garden to see how big it will get. We ordered seeds from you and planted 4 hills with 2 in each hill. We ended up with 26 counting the one we left in garden... So excited to see how big it will get!

I absolutely love Georgia weather and Thunderstorms, that's why I would definitely have a screened in porch so that I can just sit out there while the winds blow, the rain crashes down and the thunder rolls. I'm sitting in the same chair you are, the same color, and watching these wonderful squash! On Grams farm, we ALWAYS saved our veggies in the root cellar with the, jars, hams and pork belly. I know the larger squashes last until after Christmas. We used to split them, remove the seeds, and turn them upside down on a big cookie sheet, put them in the oven, and roast them. We added brown sugar, butter, salt & pepper... I could eat an entire squash alone, if Gram would have let me! I love these things! I know some folks fermented them, some freeze them, but they lasted long enough for us to get to the holidays before we had to switch to canned veggies. {Other than tomatoes}... I'm so glad to see these squash, I wish I could jump in the old truck and pop up to your house! Great job! #GrowYourGroceries!

I got 9 of those monsters and I'm going to give 2 away to my friends and then I'm going to can some of them for later and make fried pies out of them. I couldn't be happier with them and I'm going to grow them every year. The leaves alone are seriously the size of a dinner plate.

I'm so unhappy that I had to drop out of the cushaw grow off. I had bought the seeds from you guys because I seen your video from last year. I told myself I'm going to grow some squash this year. Well all my squash plants was growing good. I had planted 5 of each different of the 5 squash seeds that I bought from you guys. I was only able to harvest 3 spaghetti squash because the rodents and squirrels took out the rest of my squashes only with digging up my gardens as well. This is the second year that I'm seem to have no luck in garden out of my 6 years of gardening. Hopefully next year garden will be a great success, since the next door neighbors will be moving. This way I don't have to worry about their junkie yard housing rodents anymore. Well as always it is delightful to watch y'all channel. Thank you both and stay safe!!
