You should do a video of cleaning up some of the best finds of the day. For example: The phone box, enigma machine, etc. I think it would be very cool to see it all cleaned up after so many decades.

Directions were to dismantle the machine and dispose of parts separately, primarily the Wheels as shown , obviously it could not be destroyed by fire, Ships, U Boats etc to throw parts in sea , there is a Jap Submarine that delivered supplies to Germany in WW2 and collected among other stuff 200 Enigma Machines for use by Japs, it reached Singapore where it dropped off 50 Enigmas and set sail for Japan but not far outside Singapore it was sunk by hitting a Jap Minefield , presumably the Enigmas are still in wreck (Google it , Jap Subs supplying Nazi Germany)

Dull question but do you survey and record the items & their location, like an archaeological dig? I know it’s modern history but the future may welcome that sort of information.

@Eazy_MotionZ2001Күн бұрын
the howitzer would have been called a M1944 (BS-3) that could fire to a max range of 21 kilometres when used as an artillery piece and could also penatrate up to 170mm of armour at, 1000 meters when used in the anti-tank role

In the 1980s BBC sitcom Allo Allo which if you have not seen it was about WW2 in occupied France. A cafe owner and his wife and staff are in the French resistance and they get a message on the radio which the cafe owners wife Edith reads. "The Germans have a new machine for encoding secret messages it is called Enema" and Renee the cafe owner says "My god the lengths the Germans will go to to pass messages". One of the staff says "No Edith it is Enigma".

Nice finds today. I find it amusing when people say "it's really hot, over 30 deg C" (86 deg F) lol. Where I live, last summer we had a week of 46 deg C (115 deg F) and one day it was almost 49 deg C (120 deg F). That's the air temperature, no heat index to speak of with 5-7% humidity.
@mdww2battlegrounds17 күн бұрын
Have you ever tried digging or doing garden reconstruction in those temperatures? 😄
@VegasCyclingFreak16 күн бұрын
@@mdww2battlegrounds Yes I've had to do major sprinkler repairs mid-day in mid-summer. It sucks. In summer I do after work road bike rides for an hour or so to stay heat acclimated and this last summer I measured the temperature of the pavement in front of my house - it was 143 deg F! (61.7 deg C). Avg temps on my rides are well over 100 deg F. I almost fainted waiting at a traffic light this year... this kind of insane heat is hard on a 58 year old.

Odd question for you, what do you do with everything you find, do you have your own collection, do you donate to the local museum? Would you ever send anything to the ones who watch your videos? I would love to be there to find something to bring home, my collection disappeared a few years ago, it was all medals and ribbons, things like that, even had the ss rank that would equal a two star general, all gone now. And trying to find anything here is almost impossible. Or the seller wants an arm and a leg for it. Please let me know.
