I cry, clutching my copies of every MySims game aside from specifically the DS versions of original MySims, Racing, and Agents. Oh, how the mighty have fallen...MySims Agents literally had NO currency system, paid or otherwise. The cancellation of Friends for 3DS spelled the end for EA's morality in general

This type of challenge originated in runescape, it's called 'tileman' and done using either money or exp to pay for tiles. Really cool seeing it in Stardew, not the sort of game I expected to see someone try it! edit: Oh! The mod is called tileman, it's in the description I just didn't hear it in the video haha

Dang, it would be really easy to softlock the game in this state. If you aren't careful with which tiles you buy at the start, you can just lock yourself out from selling entirely and run out of money, limiting you to whatever useless set of squares you already unlocked. If you're going to play this mod, make sure you buy a path to the shipping bin!

As long as you can get to the shipping bin you could always beat your head against the wall tilling the ground for clay... 😔

@@Leapalot True. I guess the only real concern then is getting a few tillable tiles and the shipping bin unlocked. At that point (with a lot of patience) you'll be fine.

It’s interesting to see how influential Settled’s Tileman series has been. What began as a niche plugin for doing RuneScape challenge runs has now become a mod concept in other games. I watched ambiguousamphibian’s video of this in Project Zomboid, a few months back, and now Tileman mode is a thing in Stardew Valley. I wonder what game will be next?

Fun fact: the first fish you hook is a guaranteed catch so wait till a thunderstorm and use that guaranteed catch for the Legrand

Not sure you played those first few days as optimally as you could... Spending that many cheap tiles to go after a single forage? Nah, i would probably think about playing this mod differently. My first priority is making a path to the important locations and a patch of exactly 15 farm-able tiles. If min/max-ing, the order is 15 crop tiles, pierre's counter, beach to willy's shop, CC, wizard's, robin's, mines (both elevator and ladder), adventurer's guild, clint, museum, marnie's. Only after every one of those key locations is unlocked would i start buying tiles specifically to reach forage, since i know i finally have the basic route to everything important unlocked. Overall, not too much different from the way you played except in a single-minded focus not to be distracted.

@Leapalot Naw, you don't need to restart! You already have the fishing rod and a path to the ocean, it may take a few extra days of fishing to get up the cash so no biggie if it takes a few extra day! It's all about the journey and the fun you have with it 😊
