This has proved to be a great bit of kit. David W, you don’t have to watch ride it or push it. It’s A ROBOT, although some of my neighbours seem to spend some time watching it fascinated how it works. Thanks Stiga great machine

Great review, thanks to this have pushed the button on the A5000, I kept hearing they struggled in gardens that weren't like Wimbledon at the start but seems not to be the case. Look forward to seeing how mine gets on

How’s it getting on? I’ve an Ambrogio awd Had it 3 months Broken down 4 times Not happy
@marcfletcher36572 ай бұрын
@@fuzzy1237 its far better than I expected, I have 6300 sqm and it tackles all of it perfectly…had a few holes to fill in and occasionally it gets stuck of goes off the kerb onto the drive which is gravel so I have to pick it up but all in all I can thoroughly recommend it

@@marcfletcher3657 The Ambrogio is great when working but 3 times in 10 weeks Gonna see if I can swap it out Thanks for responding

Amazing video, thanks for sharing it! I have a question about the robot, if I may. How close does it get to cutting along the set perimeter? Some say it leaves about 20 cm uncut along the perimeter, but I would like to know the opinion of an expert like you. Thanks!
@MachineryNation4 күн бұрын
Hi thanks for your comment, and glad you enjoyed the video. So in my garden i didnt really need to worry about uncut edges as i would class ours as having soft borders. i.e going into a bush or scrub, so i set it to get as close as possible. On patio areas or borders where the machine can run over, again you wouldnt need to worry as the front wheels and machine can traverse this. When you have a physical boundary like a wall you need the machine to stop just before. The blade is set back in by about 20cm so you are correct. although if i remeber rightly there was a function where you could set it to drive the perimeter of the garden, so this would bring that dimension in. Its worth baring in mind you would leave a small strip of grass with a normal mower aswell which would require a trim up with a strimmer. So in my perosnal opinion i wouldnt worry about the little bit of extra grass that isnt cut. Alot quicker to get the trimmer out once a week and go round than to have to physically mow the lawn and then do the same. Sorry its abit of a long winded reply but i hope this helps!

@@MachineryNation I really appreciate your response, it's exactly what I needed. I'm considering the purchase (the A 3000 version, actually) and you have been very helpful. I have just subscribed to your lovely channel. Greetings from Italy :)

can you test the anthbot robot mower, which is the cheapest one i learn

A question I've always had for robot mowers is how well would they deal with sticks and twigs fallen from trees? Would they treat as a object (dependant on size i presume) or could they dull the blades?
@MachineryNation6 ай бұрын
Great question Aled! Large branches it would just bounce off them and turn around or drive around it. Smaller twigs would be driven over and maybe hit the blade, but they are designed to spin in this situation so damage would be kept to a minimum 👍🏼

did you leave the gps unit in the docking station, or did you locate it to a other place in the garden? do you have 120 degrees free space around the docking station?
@MachineryNation4 күн бұрын
Hi the gps unit was left in the base station on this install. we just moved the base station around the garden before install to find the best signal

Hi Josh, now that was impressive how it handled your paddock, the more it cuts the stronger the grass gets, what is the price on the system 🤔
@MachineryNation6 ай бұрын
This system comes at £2769. Yes the longer you leave it the better it gets 👍🏼

Why on earth build a robot mower that can't cut at least at 3" or 76mm? I have cool season grass that won't do well if cut short to 60mm or lower. 😕 Shame really...because this mower looks nice.

Seams like a lot a faffing about, and I'd fall asleep by the time it done it 🥱 stick with my ride on
@MachineryNation6 ай бұрын
Not really, once it’s set up and got past a few teething issues, it’s done. You haven’t got to set up the mower each time 👍🏼
