I've seen that tropical wave grow from 20% to 30% to 40% to 50% and now to 60%. We're continuing to see unlikely storms form this early even when conditions are poor. In a few weeks when the dust subsides and the MJO has air rising in the Caribbean, as well as wind shear continuing to drop from La Niña, things are going to get really crazy.

@@младенец: Not necessarily on the US coast just yet at that point, but storm activity in the Atlantic and towards the Caribbean will almost undoubtedly see a huge increase, virtually all possible factors would be coming together; of course there aren't any guarantees, but towards the latter half of August is probably when the US might start to see some major storms hitting the coast, although it remains to be seen how things play out.

That Atlantic storm is worrisome. Even if it's a fish storm, the models have it intensifying, not weakening, even as it goes extratropical and moves into cooler New England waters? That's not right.
