Droughts here never last longer than about 2 years, at least in the past 40 years. The worst I ever saw was '88 - '90...rivers ran dry and trees even started dying.

It's interesting that the lack of tropical storms has a negative effect on the Midwest Ohio valley. We are in an extreme drought. Trees are dropping leaves and crops are in danger of failing.

This suggests that the real risk for the Gulf Coast will be flooding, not the wind.
@DirectWeather
@DirectWeather 8 күн бұрын
For sure. Wouldn’t for a second underestimate the potential for this storm to intensify though and cause concern for wind in addition. But flooding is the bare minimum threat at the moment.

I’m jealous that everyone else still experiencing warm and hot weather while here in Montana we are about to get a nasty cold front enjoying the last days of temperatures in the 80s before the crap comes. I really hate the weather in Montana the weather forecast keeps showing starting on Thursday only a high of 62 degrees and an even lower high on Friday a high of 56 degrees both days wind will make it feel cooler and cloudy and rainy and no temps in the 80s forecasted after I know I’ll be demotivated to go outside on those days don’t know why the crap is starting when we aren’t even past the Autumn Equinox but then again it’s Montana we aren’t as fortunate as others who get a longer summer.

@@juliocastillo8472 I wish I could but I’m stuck here I don’t have a vehicle I have no way to leave town let alone leave the state. My focus in life now is trying to get a car as soon as possible so I can finally leave I’m tired of living in a state that’s below 60 degrees for the majority of the year I wouldn’t miss the cold one bit I don’t want to live in a place that drops below -30 degrees in the winter id much rather it be 90 degrees for months and have warm mild winters I know the south has some cold days but at least it will never be -30 degrees and winter is significantly shorter. I am actually active in the outdoors when the temperatures are warm and hot but when it’s cold I only go out of necessity (work and errands) I’m basically in my dormant state for 6 to 7 to 8 months out of the year depending on the weather, my eczema acts up very bad in the winter because of it my skin on my hands cracks like glass but now in the summer since there’s plenty of sunlight and warmth my hands look great no cracks or signs of eczema whatsoever.

@@punchfreneticallydot In south Louisiana after 5" or more rain, enjoying a day or 2 before another 5-10" rain and tropical storm in the area. Around 4,000 small heirloom vegetable plants in my driveway and another 2,000 or so to plant in trays the next couple days. 10" rain not helping and it's in the 80's after a cold front. I wish I could make it back to Montana, it's been 13 years. April 15th to October 15th is miserable here... A week or so ago it was 99 with 95% humidity.
@punchfreneticallydot
@punchfreneticallydot 8 күн бұрын
@@antonboldsword3770 99 degrees with 95% humidity doesn’t sound miserable like -30 degrees does I will take any 90+ degree day over a single day of -30 degrees the heat is something I get used to it really doesn’t bother me unlike many people but the cold I notice especially bitter cold it feels like absolute hell outside even with layers on in -30 to -45 degrees, I’ve never gotten used to the cold despite being born here. While I’m not a fan of rain either id rather deal with rain any day over snow at least rain shovels itself unlike snow and driving in rain isn’t nearly as anxiety ridden as driving in snow and ice. Trust me you don’t want to come back remember the reason why you left, remember the nasty brutal winters and -30 degrees at least your staying warm down south in Louisiana you’ll never have to see -30 degrees on the weather forecast let alone any temperatures below 0. It is a bad time to come to Montana when the 7 to 9 month winter season is about to begin next month in October.

Your lucky a drastic change is coming soon here in Montana. Right now our days have been sunny with temperatures in mid to low 80s however this pattern will change drastically beginning on Thursday September 12 when cold air will move in bringing the high temperatures down to the 60s to mid 50s for the next 3 days with a temporary warm up in the low 70s on September 15 only to drop to the low 60s the next day I hate when the cold crap arrives!

the reason this hurricane season has been extremely inactive is due to dry air AND the african monsoon (what causes tropical waves) is higher up than normal (it has cooler waters)

There is a problem with this hurricane season (so far) not living up to its projection as a very active season. I'm seeing lots of feedback from the usual suspects, complaining about NOAA, NWS incompetency. It's the kind of thing that they see as crying wolf, or sensationalizing.
