I'm glad to know I dont dislike watching weather anymore, that it is what weather on the TV has become. At one point we had street by street in the miami valley ohio, then 10 years later we have a lady screaming we are going to die during a weather outbreak. Jeez... For southern and central Oklahoma tomorrow: 500 mb wind not only pick up in speed, tomorrow - later in the evening, but will stay moving directly to the east, or even slightly ESE. These winds aloft are looking to stay pretty perpendicular to the boundaries, mainly for southern and central Oklahoma. Not only discrete, but these storms can tap into that mid to upper level jet to enhance long track tornadoes.

Yeah, saw the SPC convective outlook and this thing looks dangerous for Wichita and the surrounding counties. What do you think about them bumping this up to a level 5 with high percentages and even scarier hatching? If SPC does, it will be early tomorrow morning? I haven't seen a scary outlook like this in years. At least not with Wichita in the hot seat.

Yeah. Last time it was this bad, Andover and Hesston got whacked by F5s in the early 90s. And from what it looks like on the map, looks like it might be a repeat of that. I'm super concerned about my area (Newton, Hesston, Halstead). We've not had a bad tornado here for over thirty years and are long overdue.

I’m concerned a high risk is possible tomorrow especially with them issuing a moderate risk 24 hours in advance from Monday outlook normally when they issue a moderate risk a day in advance normally it goes high the next morning outlook

@@tylerkane4761 Honestly, a moderate risk is NWSspeak for high risk. They always prefer to understate things than overstate them. People tend to eventually ignore them if they overstate things. In reality a moderate risk is a high risk, an enhanced risk is a moderate risk, and anything lower is low risk to no need to worry territory. High risk means make sure you know where your insurance policies are because you will need them. Using that term tends to freak people out as much as it does warn them. Same thing goes with their precipitation forecasts. A twenty percent chance of rain means there is really a thirty percent chance of rain. A thirty percent chance of rain means there is really a forty percent chance of rain. A forty percent chance of rain means there is really a fifty percent chance of rain. Fifty percent or higher chance of rain means there is a one hundred percent chance of rain.

The Angel real time radar is showing a very different scenario than your noon prediction for today but the storm over Oklahoma and Arkansas on it's east side it's going north west and the west side is going north east and as a whole it's going more north than east . We might have had 2 tornados touch down in Holdrege Nebraska on May 3 2024. NWS Hastings is currently investigating the possibility that 2 Tornados hit Holdrege after there were possible damage indicators of a second tornado touching down near the fairgrounds in the South East of Holdrege.

Omg!!! I have a screenshot of the radar velocities in holdrege that night. There were tornado warnings in 2 places, some strong rotating couplets, and I swear a small cc drop, but nothing was ever indicated as on the ground. I was SO sure they had touched down though based on how they looked on radar. This doesn’t surprise me at all
