Too bad you can't send that rain directly down to St Louis. We need it here, somehow every time there is a storm anywhere near us it magically splits in two, completely bypasses the St Louis, then once they cross into Illinois they form back together into one storm. It's rained maybe 10 days in the past 3 years here in St Louis city. That started happening with storms about 6-7 years ago and it happens almost every time any kind of weather is headed for St Louis. It is the weirdest thing I have ever seen.

In Jefferson WI, a church was struck by lightning and started a 3 alarm fire last night. I live less than a block away from it, and due to the winds, fire fighters had a real rough time getting the fire under control.

Thank you, Max for this update; despite having already been live for several hours yesterday. We had a helluva night here in the southern burbs of Chicago. I haven’t seen so much lightning in years. It was prevalent for several hours in the wee hours of the night & Kankakee County was directly hit by one of only two storms that came through northern IL last night. After some fitful shut-eye, I woke a few minutes ago to what looked like a shelf cloud & have lightning warnings again on my phone, less than 10 mi. away. I’m already worn out from this weather!! At least I’m not being too surprised or unprepared, all thanks to you!! We appreciate your dedication & knowledge!

Good morning Max and everyone, have a good Tuesday. Thank you for the update, will be on the lookout tomorrow. I’ve been through 3, took the precautions I was supposed to and made it through. The last time was on June 2, 1998. There was an outbreak of tornadoes in and around Pittsburgh, PA. I was home alone with my 2 daughters, a son and our Husky/Shepard who saved our lives. My children were 14, 12 and 8. My 8 y.o. son is autistic. I was in our kitchen washing dishes and the news just issued a tornado warning. I noticed the wind picking up and the sky getting dark. My dog was 11 and didn’t take steps anymore due to arthritis. Out of nowhere Gretchen (our dog) walked very fast through the kitchen and practically ran down the basement steps. My mouth fell open, then I ran into our family room and told the kids to get into the basement immediately! One of the tornadoes came through our neighborhood and we lost our two sheds, a few trees and several tiles off our roof. The basement was finished and had tile floors and carpeting. The children and I and Gretchen lay on the floor covered with a queen size mattress. Oh, their dad was at work and was fine. A few days later I bought Gretchen enough T-bone steaks for a week. I hope no one minds me sharing our story. If you do, just pass it by 😊

Praise God for Gretchen and for your discernment and quick action to get you and the kids in the basement following the lead of your Husky/Shepherd mix into the basement. What a great testimony. Monday night to morning, our storm was pretty intense. There is huge tree in front of my apartment building porch. the tree lost a half dozen branches, and many of small branches and leafs got torn off of the tree, and I see this out of my third-floor balcony. Ugh, overnight storms for my area. Hopefully everything that's going to break off of my 40 foot tall termite damaged trees in the back of my house has already broke off.
