Impulse, I know you and possibly other hermits think that this kind of "non productive content" stream is somehow inferior, but I have to say I enjoy it just as much as any chaotic community shenanigans or impressive builds and timelapses. It humanizes you and the other content creators; I feel you're all more relatable in a way. I really really like the (especially impromptu) 'simply hang out, talk about life outside of content creation, podcast-like' streams. Here's hoping Skizz makes a speedy recovery.

Gem isn't even lying when she talks about the pregnancy tests. Any woman can attest. You go to a doctor for any reason and they want to do a pregnancy test on you. Even if there is zero chance of you being pregnant they will still do the test to 'make sure'. It use to bother me (sometimes still does) but a nursing friend of mine said they can often find other medical issues when performing a pregnancy test so its not a bad thing to do ultimately, but it still seems ridiculous that health professionals just act like a womans default issue is pregnancy.

From what I know too from when i studied urology, certain medications do not bode well with pregnancy and can pose a risk to the patient and a viable fetus. It can help the patient make an informed decision on their treatment knowing if they are pregnant or not. Although I will agree as a woman with no chance of getting pregnant it can be a little ridiculous sometimes.

So, this might reaffirm your desire to take things slow and not go OP right out of the gate. I love watching these vods and episodes where you guys are just playing the game, rather than going OP as fast as you can to go mega quickly. I love watching you guys grind and dig out your areas for your builds while hanging out with each other. I loved that Skizz left it in his video of him, Gem, and Grian talking about how he should scale down his pyramid, and him telling them he doesn't trial stuff in creative. I love that this season feels more raw and relatable. Like any of us viewers can relate to the tedium of terra forming and strip mining and using effective but slow mob grinders for xp. Now, I'ma press play and listen while I grind out the cherry wood, mangrove wood, deep slate, and Blackstone for my gothic pink castle. I'm dreading the pink concrete grinding I'll have to do...

I had shingles twice. Face and eye both times. Not fun. I was 16 and 21. 5 years to the day weirdly enough. I feel for skizz man. Shingles is extremely contagious but only when the sores are “weeping” impy, so just don’t touch him and you should be fine. It can be triggered by stress, so the HC start plus all the work before sabbatical could have caused it.

Pregnancy tests for medical treatment is also to prevent radiation exposure from scans and medications that cant be administered while pregnant and many many morw things! It's annoying but it's important for them to know.

Sure but when there is zero chance of being pregnant if can feel redundant and like health staff don't trust you. It sucks. It also usually means having to discuss my sexuality when I really shouldn't have to. Being a lesbian and being intimate with someone lacking the other half of cells required for a pregnancy should not have to be a topic of discussion when I need an xray for my injured shoulder.

OOF, poor Skizz! Also shingles isnt just chickenpox and you can still get shingles even if you already had chickenpox because it's basically a reactivated form of it. Shingles is very painful because it can cause nerve damage and (rarely) the damage can be permanent. My source is I caught it as a little kid and it was so bad i got pulled from school a few months, it ached for years after and way over a decade later the damage is permanent and i have limited mobility in my shoulders and upper right arm. Shingles is no joke!

Shingles sucks. But it's only contagious if the rash is weeping and open. I'm assuming that he had his shirt covering it, and if the rash just developed, he probably wasn't "shedding" the virus. As long as he keeps it all covered up, you should be fine. He can also possibly have nerve pain from shingles for a while after. But it's manageable! But don't let anyone pregnant get near him... there's something weird about it that can (very rarely) affect pregnancies.

I'm loving this. It's a "au naturel" Hermitcraft. Yall are obviously behaving like you always would do when not streaming and /or filming. Not even a podcast, since there's no chosen topic, and just a nice, relaxing conversation. I'm fishing, I just got a mending book(yeah, Grian IS unlucky, took me less than 500 fish), and i also built my starter chestroom and I HATE building storage. And using it. There seems to be something magical about the beginning of this season. I have a few theories about why. But I was also considering why viewers enjoy the collaborative streams so much. I am thinking of the last time Mumbo streamed end busting with Iskall and got 100k viewers which upset him so much he just doesn't do it anymore. Two things: first, watching people interact really fuels the parasocial relationship thing, makes us feel connected and like we are really getting to know the creator which creates loyalty. Like, I think part of the reason you got to 1 million subscribers is because you were on a journey to get there and people became really invested in your authentic feelings and journey. They were with you. Second, consider the popularity of "react" style videos. I love looking at your builds. But I get to experience it again when someone else comes and comments on it. It's not so satisfying in a 20 minute "world tour" at the end of a season where there is no investment from the hermit touring, they don't know the lore or the grind that was involved. But we did know that about the soup group last season. I was way more invested in the builds of Gem and Pearl simply BECAUSE you were experiencing them. That rising tide raised all "butts". And the floor of your foundry in the dwarven keep was so so good. I got to feel proud for you and admire the whole thing again when Gem and Pearl gushed over them. This now concludes my random Impulse stream VOD comment for today lol.

This is a way late comment. But regarding shingles if you HAD chicken pox as a child, the virus went into your body and can come out as shingles later. If you never had chicken pox, you CAN catch that from someone with shingles. I had shingles on my face it missed my eye by millimeters

Having gallbladder issues myself, it’s the right side, not the left. It sits under your liver and I don’t think rash is a symptom. Also family history but I didn’t start having symptoms until about two years ago. Fatty foods are a big culprit and my doctor immediately gave me a referral to get it removed but I’ve been managing it with my diet. Some cases are severe enough that it’s necessary. The internet says if you start throwing up to go to the ER but I’ve only had two stones get that bad since I’ve started having issues. There are also prescriptions medications available to dissolve them. If it’s mild then he shouldn’t still be in pain if it started Monday normally it’s only a couple hours MAX 5-8 hours after eating 🧐 Regardless I hope he’s okay and I’m glad he’s off for treatment!!
