Wow, I’m so delighted to see this puzzle appear on the channel, thank you both Simon and Mark for keeping us entertained at least once every day/night! :) It’s genuinely sweet that your solve nailed every detail in this one (including the ‘breaking symmetry’ point as well) and it relived my first reaction when I finished the setting of this puzzle, so thank you so much for the great feedback and also thanks to every other solver that supported this one as well! _[Fun fact, this one was made in honor of my friend James Sinclair for his great contributions over the time; it’s also meant for a nice change of pace after all of the hard works I’d done for a very long while and you can tell there’s some James’s elements in this one.]_

This is one of those puzzles that I wouldn't have attempted a few years ago, but just from watching these videos I was tucking into some solid deductions within a few minutes.

I feel the exact same. I have felt my deductive reason increase over the last two years of watching them. I can now spot patterns and logic I definitely would have missed years ago.

28:13 A cracking example of how to build complexity from simplicity. No fancy special rules but so much going on with the cages.

15:23 I love seeing color get removed. It's like clearing pencil marks after finding a digit. It's very satisfying. Simon does the opposite. He insists on keeping useless colors all the way through.

@@biaberg3448 The problem is that the colours dominate the grid (especially with his beloved dark green and blue) so he ends up not seeing a lot of other stuff as well 🙈

Nah, "buttered potatoes" (parsely potatoes) is far more common. I have a feeling, ever since "The Great Potato Famine" in Europe, parsnips were used (and became a lifestyle). "That's not buttering any potatoes," is what I'm used to. Screw the "parsnips" in other words. Rutabagas or turnips, Anyone? That's where your parsnips are in other words. "Potatoes."
@stevesebzda570
@stevesebzda570 20 күн бұрын
Go 'head, tell me I'm wrong? I've never actually tasted a "parsnip," (but I sold a few). I imagine a parsnip is like a rutabaga or turnip. Tell me I'm wrong?! Let's not even go onto parsley root (that most certainly looks like a parsnip). I imagine "parsnips" to be like "rutabagas" and :turnips." Tell me I'm wrong (wrogn)?!? "Buttered potatoes," though. But tell me I'm wrong? 😂

I finished in 32 minutes. I really like this puzzle. It seems I gel well with these symmetric puzzles and I am able to see so much for some reason. This has got to be one of my favorites. I really liked the flow of the logic, especially figuring out that the 28 cages had to contain the same numbers. Coloring made it really easy to see some of the logic, like the 89s. Great Puzzle!
