Me too, I have the same 8-bitdo controller and it was super laggy at times. I know I’m more sensitive to input lag than others, but I had to go with other options, sadly.

Maybe update the firmware if you haven't. My 8bitdo ult. Has been working fine, but the gyro is a little off, feels like. Nothing crazy bad tho.

I LOVE the feeling of those mechanical switches on the buttons of that controller. Thanks for making a review covering this. It's not for everyone and I can understand if it's not to your taste, but I think it's the best pro controller for the Switch. Mainly really good for fighting games when you need snappy fast buttons.

I had my first mechanical controller with the Mobapad M6 HD and I hated it at first because it's click-y but when I used other controller not having a mechanical switch I realized how good it is.

I have 8bitdo, kk3, kk2, and the moba and they’re all great but that moba pad is absolutely perfect. Mechanical buttons and real hd rumble, comfortable and a decent app and cheaper than pro controller. Highly recommended

I used to main the SN30 Pro 2 with my switch but the Mobapad supassed it in every respect for me it has every feature of an official switch pro controller but with the bonus of hall effect sticks, mechanical buttons, better latency, back buttons, macro and rapid fire functions. I do have an SN30 Pro (with the orginal better d-pad) on hand too for when a game needs that retro feel... as well as a retrobit saturn controller for games that benefit from that Sega feel. I honestly sometimes forget that the joycons detatch

I honestly believe that the location of the left thumb stick should influence the games you play on the controller predominantly. The "PlayStation" mirrored stick layout is good for games where both analog sticks are used in balance such as the Katamari series and setting up Star Wars Episode 1 Racer with the dual analog cheat in an emulator, but then also configure both controller sticks onto the single controller, as well as boing an excellent layout for retro or D-pad based games. The "XBox" layout of putting the left stick in a more natural position but not mirrored with the right side is better for games that focus on single stick movement, like racing games, platformers, and such. I'm just waiting for the FPS controller with the analog sticks in a more natural position on both sides, so they are mirrored, and duplicating the face buttons with paddles on the back to resolve the less optimal position.

I am, like you, my favorite controllers are the 8bitdo pro2s (have the wireless one and the Xbox wired one). I hope one of these days they get around to making a pro3 with hall effect thumb sticks, since they put them in the "ultimate" controller.

I would have bought it but they did not give you any replacement sticks one taller would have been nice I wanted. So I got the 8bitdo Ultimate instead and I think it is a much better controller. I never regret buying 8bitdo controllers. The D-pad on my Switch Pro controller was not working as good so I was looking for a better replacement for it.

I've had one of these for a couple months now and while I mostly like it, it tends to not wake up my Switch most of the time. If it doesn't do it the first time I have to wait for the lights to stop flashing to do it again. Often times I have to physically turn the Switch on before the controller connects.

Didn't the KingKong 2 take the title already of being the perfect pro replacement since if has everything else just like that controller like the hall effect analogs and the mechanical buttons as well as the NFC reader. Oh ya and if i recall the KingKong 2 controller can always wake up the Switch from sleep mode.

There's one HUGE issue i have with this controller. If you lightly tap the buttons or D Pad, it's lovely. You press them hard, and you start having problems, especially with the D Pad. I can't trust it at all to play Tetris because it'll randomly drop pieces on me i hadn't intended to do.

Dpad placement on all asymmetrical controllers is so awkward. That’s why the 8Bitdo is probably better in general for dpad use. Feels more natural even if the dpad isn’t as good. Just watching your thumb in that position makes me uncomfortable lol
