THIS TANK IS A GIANT METAL BIG MAC - M6A2E1 in War Thunder

The M6A2E1 in War Thunder is a Giant Metal Big Mac that's available right now in Battle Pass Season 3 Strength Athletics.
The M6A2E1 Heavy Tank is a Premium for USA. It features a 105mm cannon with 240mm of penetration. The armour is strong in most places but is severely lacking in others with areas of only 50-70mm making it vulnerable even to reserve tier tanks from the front.
The turret on the M6A2E1 Battle Pass reward is the strongest part of the tank. So long as you're hull down there aren't many tanks that can take you on. Gun elevation angles are great and with your extra height you can look over most obstacles that other tanks can't.
The M6A2E1 is hard to love but it's certainly got a powerful gun and a lot of character. It's completely up to you if you think this vehicle is worth it or not! :)

This tank was to have the same role as the T28/T95 super heavy tanks which was to break through German defensive lines, along with the German defensive lines already being broken, the mechanical problems already stemming from the M6 hull has only been worsened by the addition of the turret and 105mm gun, even then how were the Americans supposed to transport it? The M6 was already going to nearly reach the limits of the cranes in ports. Also the M26 Pershing was already in service by that time and god knows the US armoured corps wouldn’t give up a new toy for some unreliable, overweight and top heavy side project.

@@youraveragebloodmarine8813 you were lied to. 2 of the 3{not 2} t95s were deployed in germany at the very end of the war. one was deployed, tested on captured german tanks, then sent home. tank #3 was supposed to go to berlin after the war and divide as a show of force but never arrived. in 2004 a farmer found #3 t95 with his tiller. he hit it near a bog{bog was way bigger in ww2} and it was excavated and sent back according to classified documents. never been declassified but was accidentally released along with details about us forces early infiltrations of the soviet union. primarily becoming friends with soviet soldiers and getting info from them. the t95 document was redacted and remains classified. there was an entire forum about it back in 2015. ppl claim to have seen it and some posted current pics. up armored and upgunned along with a modern m1a engine supposedly. definitely had reactive armor on front and sides. i live eat and breathe tanks. and mainly supertanks

My comment was about the M6A2E1, not the T28 GMC, the most I mentioned about that super heavy tank was merely the role it would have served had it’s development program gone forward and successfully deployed in Western Europe. I have no idea how you got the idea that I was referring to the T28 instead of the M6A2E1 during that reply but go nuts I guess 2. I could not find any documentation claiming that there were three T28s built, all sources I could find state that only 2 were built and both were tested at Fort Knox and Aberdeen Proving grounds in until 1947 meaning both examples have *never* left the continental United States, if you could provide a source that states that three T28s were built I would love to see it. 3. I could not find anything about the supposed farmer finding a T28 example in a bog whilst filling his field, you must have it confused with the Virginian farmer that found one in 1974 behind some bushes again if you could provide a source for this that would be more than welcome. 4. What on God’s green earth are you on about in that last part?! Up-gunned? ERA armour? Modern M1A engine? US armoured doctrine has changed incredibly along with the threats, even if the supposed M1A engine (which as far as I could find is a FUCKING CESSNA 172’s ENGINE). I don’t know if you have noticed but US armoured doctrine has since long gone away from solely relying on armour and a big gun to defeat hostile units wether they be armoured or not. Again if you could provide some links to these claims that would be awesome. Please provide a link to said 2015 forum, it would be interesting to read

One thing that adjusts the volume of a cannon round being fired is the muzzle velocity of the shell, as it can made an added crack as it exits the barrel.. especial if it is a supersonic round, which some 20mm's are, they average 3380 feet/s where as the 105's this tank uses averages 1620 feet/s.

I'm a big M6 fan so I'm happy to see that even if this thing isn't amazing, it's plenty useable as either a long-range fighter, or as heavy gun support for other tanks. I'll probably have to shell out for it since 75-ish levels on the battlepass is a lot of time I'm not sure I can commit, but it looks like a fun tank on the M6 platform so I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy it

Don't regret getting this thing one bit it has the best visibility in the game and the gun can knock out a King tiger from like a thousand meters plus the insane reverse gear of 17 mph and sometimes trolly armor.

Yo, so I noticed that a major weakspot from the front is shooting at the tread, if the shell pens enough, it'll go through and into the ammo rack behind it, so take 12 rounds or less. Tip from Gaijin's video on the M6A2E1

3:00 that offends me every time I hear a war thunder player say that apcr is useless when I've been able to get more of a use out of it than some of the basic shells lol it's meant to penetrate targets not to explode if your target is too heavily armored then you use the apcr to knock out the crew and or Target ammunition racks so that way you can cause an explosion from the inside of the vehicle that's why it doesn't have any explosive mass at it on to it cuz it's meant purely for penetration , high explosive is supposed to knock out the crew to make the tank be able to get killed easier and armor piercing rounds have an high explosive Mass but are meant to penetrate a Target before exploding on the inside of the vehicle lol eat shell type has their each own individual use so carrying some apcr shells on you is not that bad of a thing especially since if somebody hits you in the APC or rack they're not going to explode that big I've had somebody take out all of my apcr shells without losing any crew members due to the fact that they don't have enough explosive Mass to actually explode lol although that was in 2021 and things could have changed since the last time I've been able to play
