The gun has a .50 cal attached to use as a ranging tool, it has the same ballistics as the cannon, so you can range your targets with a single shot, if it connects you can fire

It has *similar* ballistics as the cannon, meaning at ranges past 500-600m, the tracer no longer gives you an accurate range estimate. This is the case for every recoilless rifle that has a ranging .50 cal attached to it in the game.

IIRC it has the same ballistics as the HESH round, so it won't be accurate for the HEAT-FS which I believe has a higher muzzle velocity. Still useful to fire a couple rounds to clear obstructions for the round though, I just wouldn't count on it for ranging.

It'd be cool if Gaijin added the correct amount of backblast for recoilless rifles, i.e. make them artificial dust storm generators. The Ontos would especially be that, but it'd be cool visually and it'd be a neat way of balancing them I think. Like, sure the rifle is small and only sticks out a bit, but once it fires it's basically a beacon to anyone and everyone.

Another interesting fact about the ZIS-30 is that it was one of the first attempts by the Soviet Union to create a self-propelled anti-tank gun using readily available components. It's also definitly one of the funniest russian anti tank vecichles.

Don’t worry, as a regular Tortoise player, they have a lot going for them. First of all you get an entire village of crew. Second, the gun can traverse really far to the sides. So I don’t call them helpless, just bad at judging when to pull out into a firing position.

Only reason it’s getting bad press is because it’s the only vehicle on the German tree within that BR range that can’t point-and-click-oneshot everything. Any other techtree I could see this being 7.0+

That sounds about right. I've been playing at Germany 8.0+ a lot recently, so I'm more than used to NOT just clicking on things an expecting them to get nuked in one shot. So I actually really enjoy this thing. The grind for it was hell, but I'm damn glad to finally have it. I've been hearing bad things about it, but when I tried it for myself I just couldn't help but feel like those people were playing a completely different vehicle. Either that, or they were stereotypical German mains who think anything that doesn't have a railgun and concrete bunker for armor is "bad." Or people were trying to play it as a light tank when it's more like a viable tank destroyer at 6.7.

It's also worth mentioning that the 20mm is missing a significant portion of its elevation. Realistically, it can elevate all the way up to a little notch on the turret roof. That being said, this nerf is likely intentional due to the fact that if it had more than +13, it would collide with the recoilless rifle.

I know why people thought that way, the recoilless rifle has a really hard time OSK tanks in the test drive, so I was concerned too. Until I unlocked the beast a few days ago myself, Oh boy. This thing rips and tears. Be it the recoilless rifle just OSKing everything, or the 20 mike just shredding light tanks (AMLs) that rush me right after I fire.

Fun video, you did great, but my personal favourite today is that CAS IQ storm with the lamp post, the best thing that I've seen today on KZbin. The vehicle itself is great, it just need a skilled commander. The statement about the Leopard2...I don't know what is your problem with that, especially if we consider the 2A4 has a similar size turret than the Abrams. I think it is peak German design and of course enginiering, those tanks look very serious. But it is just personal taste I'm assuming. Interestingly enough a friend of mine also query about the size of the turret. Can I ask for a Radkampfwagen90 gameplay pls?

There are 3 "superheavy" casemates. Tortoise, T28/95 and Jagdtiger. Because "superheavy" isn't really a term and just highlights heaviest, most impractical and expensive of vehicles. The price tag of superheavy vehicles is what MBTs inherited from them;)

So, fun fact: infantry had to disembark through the top hatch, which is obviously terrible because they would then be the highest point of the vehicle. To get in they had to climb the ladder in the back. The Panzermuseum Munster has one of those vehicles. That sharp edge at the back had the paint chipped off. A guide that lead us through the exhibition told us that was from the knees and shins of soldiers... So yeah, everybody hated this thing.
