I loved the look of this team as it has some of my favourite Pokémon. Also, have been wanting to get into VGC for a while, so I began playing with it online and it’s got me all the way to Masterball tier in about 40 games. I know that’s not the best, but as a beginner I found this team really fun to use and it wasn’t too complex. Screens and intimidate support from Grim and Arcanine came in clutch in so many games and defo saved me when I made a few mistakes. Thanks Aaron for sharing it with us!:)

I used this team 3 days ago in a local tournament in our country and went 3-3 with zero practice and with the wrong Tera on the Iron Hands (I forgot to change it quq) This team is so good but I totally need to train my mental fortitude especially when going against opposing bulky teams but overall this whole team is so well-made. Kudos to Ally for making this team and to Aaron for piloting it on this R2R episode

This team was really fascinating to try out. While I felt like there was no way to stop Annihilape + Maushold, everything else seemed so smooth, it was great One of my favorite moments trying out this team was - the opponent used Yawn into Corviknight, and I remembered I could click Roost + Misty Terrain next turn, to prevent Corviknight from getting put to sleep ^^

I wrote this before I saw the video But bulky screens offense has been really good especially when grimmsnarl teams dropping off before the tournament happened means a lot of people stopped bringing in brick break/psychic fangs into there teams but ontop of that the last two regionals were won with pretty bulky teams for the most part so bulk atm is kinda value

Aaron I have 2 quirky and silly TR mons for you that I have had a lot of fun with: 1: Ditto with Room Service. In contrast to the usual Scarf Ditto, this gives you less consistent/more situational speed control in favor of much more flexibility. Non-scarf Ditto is interesting because you can more easily use status moves/Protect and can potentially stick around for longer than 5 turns, which makes copying support pokemon actually viable. Sometimes I even lead with Ditto for the information it provides. I recently discovered that Ditto lets your check your opponent's ability by checking your own via "Check Status." Besides, Ditto is always great because copying opposing +2 Dondozo is just really funny. 2: Heavy Metal ability Copperajah using Heavy Slam. This gives you an almost guaranteed 120 BP +STAB move with no debuffs. Pair that with Choice band and/or tera steel and you can one shot quite a lot of threats with neutral damage. I love the surprise factor because people don't usually seem to expect how much damage it does. I've been able to OHKO physically bulky mons like Garganacl, Annihilape, Amoonguss, etc.

Against Annihilape + Maushold, I thought you could have lead Grimm and Sylveon and then went for Reflect and Yawn into the Annihilape. It obviously wouldn't have worked as it was Vital Spirit Annihilape, but as most are Defiant and this team struggels with this duo, I think it might be worth going for it the next time
@Kasaaz Жыл бұрын
It feels like Iron Hands, Sandy Shocks and Iron Thorns all got a more limited move pool than the non-Electric Paradox mons. It feels like they really went light on the move pools for almost all Electric Types this generation, at least for Coverage. There were almost none run in Series 1 outside of Rotom (whose gimmick is Coverage, kind of) and rarely Kilowattrel. It's very strange. The Electric type with the best, most diverse move pool is probably Ampharos, and so that's saying something about where their heads were at.
@HowlingOneify Жыл бұрын
?? Hands has a fine movepool. What are you talking about? Thorns and Sandy Shocks are also fine, just much of their movepool is singles oriented with hazards.
@Kasaaz Жыл бұрын
@@HowlingOneify I was specifically talking about coverage. Non-STAB stuff that is still threatening. In ranked that means moves your opponent has to play around when they see the mon because you MIGHT have it. They objectively have less coverage moves. Hands has the most with a few of the Punches. As someone else pointed out to me, it seems like Game Freak was worried about Electric Terrain and Electric types just being too strong, especially when we get into higher powered Series.

You can definitely win you just have to react fast and make sure you time your attacks right.

Anyway you could make a video discussing adapting to the meta? I love trying teams like this, but I feel like the meta always shifts based on responding to these tournament winning teams, so their performance starts to sag as a result of their impact on the meta. It would be interesting to explore the nature of shifting metas and discussing how to properly adapt and pivot.

In the last game, Weakness Policy was on the Coalossal, so couldn't be on the Armorouge. Also, might've been better to protect Sylveon on the turn where Dragapult goes for a second Tera Blast. If Dragapult when for the Dragon Darts, does barely any damage on the Gastrodon anyways. And if Sylveon survived, would apply so much pressure the next turn

What do you think about Pickpocket Tinkaton with Fake Out and Fling as a lead? I've been mulling over it for a bit and it seems like a viable Fake Out user, Mold breaker aside. Pickpocket letting you steal items from mons that depend on them for a pseudo knock off seems neat. Edit: Skitter Smack and Pounce are maybe viable support moves? Gigaton is pretty much mandatory.

It is cleary not 50%, I think it's about 25-30 % does in "Trick room" because I did test my team with calculated stats, but clear it was not 50% lower speed because pokemon with "Room service" held in my team still "Outspeed" others but if it truely halve speed or 50% it would slower than others pokemon in my team with calculated but it was not. While I’m not Aaron, I will say from watching his videos that some teams do seem to still be able to work. You’ll need to at least familiarize yourself with how some of the paradoxes work, but there have been non paradox teams he’s shown as opponents in his videos, like game 4 in this video.
