You actually lose the adaptability boost on any move that is not your current tera type when you tera, so Krookodile would have survived the Wave Crash if Basculegion was scarf because it was currently a dark type, so adaptability would have no longer applied to it. The interactions between adaptability and tera are really unintuitive lol Calc (this is with Adaptability selected): 252+ Atk Tera Dark Basculegion Wave Crash vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Tera Flying Krookodile: 123-145 (72.3 - 85.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

QOTD: The Ice type I'd buff is Aurorus. With the changes to Snow it would be a pretty physically bulky snow setter with the defense boost, but the problem of it's really bad type(4x weak to fighting and steel, weak to rock, water, and grass) would continue to hold it back unless it had some more upsides. Considering it's coverage is pretty great between Ice, Rock, Electric, Steel, and Dragon, my proposed buff would be to move 20 points from it's attack to its sp.atk, moving it up to 119. That would make Aurorus the highest sp.atk of any snow setter which might give it a niche on teams that want strong Blizzard spam and make setting up Snow alongside Trick Room to make use of Aurorus low base speed even more dangerous.

Great video as always! QOTD: I love Lapras and would love to see a slight stat redistribution to help make it more viable. Moving 10-15 stat points from Attack to Special Attack would make it feel more viable as a special attacker in formats without G-Max. I would also love to see a buff to Mamoswine, maybe swapping its Special Defense and Speed stats so that it takes more advantage of its high HP stat, since 80 is a pretty middling speed stat.

QOTD: I'd give Eiscue like +40 Special Defense. It still won't be good and if you try for a greedy belly drum while taking a special hit you'll still likely die, but at least this way there might be a reason why someone would want to attack physically. Might be a 2 hit rather than a 3-4 hit if you're built specially bulky If you want to keep the BSTs the same between both forms, I'll let it have +20 Atk, and +10 in both defenses in it's fast form

​​@@williametzler3743the issue with best luck option is that you need to successfully read your opponent to leverage your amazing luck in the first place, which is Very Unreliable. having complete certainty about what your opponent does removes that variance, and despite being kind of Worse than Best Luck Possible, worst luck possible *also* grants you perfect knowledge (i.e. you'll know exactly how much damage you'll do (minimum) and when you'll crit (never) and when you'll miss with inaccurate moves (always), all of which you can compensate for fairly easily) much easier to win the game with certainty if you have 100% perfect info than if you only have 50% perfect info

Yeah, there's a lot of specificity when it comes to effects like that. Snow doesn't "boost your defense" so much as it "reduces incoming physical damage." It's a small distinction, but a distinction nonetheless.

The meta isn't as good for it right now - Steel and Ghost-types are everywhere (Gholdengo, Archaludon, Kingambit, Annihilape), Indeedee is really common, and Sneasler can just Close Combat Normal Tera Dragonite. Also Chien Pao no longer exists so you can't just burst things with Choice Band Normal Tera ESpeed in Sword of Ruin

This team is overrated in my opinion. I get it utilizes 3 Pokemon not usually seen in the meta, but overall it’s a decent team at best. Plus with it being featured here and James’s channel, get ready to see it everywhere on the ladder for about a week. I guarantee you’ll see it a lot in the grand challenge too

I think it gained a lot of traction because it's fun and different! Luigi ultimatelly wanted to have fun and bring a funny team for the tournament, he didn't expect all of this attention but he's really passionate so he's v happy! Also, in the game w boyt he decided to play for fun rather than really strategize that much (he was never really planning to reach day2, as he was supposed to reach me in Paris the next day for a romantic getaway, I'm is gf eheh). Anyways I think it was the point all along! To have fun with it, not really expecting to move forward with it.
