@ApolloKid2 жыл бұрын
Hello XLNT Can you talk about gain staging? because when I purchased your mid temps pack and opened up the project the mix was heavily clipped!! so is it fine to clip the master when mixing? and after getting right balance by tweaking volume fader can I just through in your masterblaster audio effect?
@rebirth41192 жыл бұрын
Yeah I believe that would have probably been intentional. I know a lot of people say not to clip your master but that's really based upon old mixing engineer techniques that worked on pop, rap, and rock. clipping the master is just like how people use hardclippers and softclippers to add in distortion while compressing or limiting the sound. I don't recommend clipping the master while mixing but you can use clipping when you do your mastering. You can also do stage clipping/limiting which is doing little bits of clipping or limiting with each plugin so you're able to control the effects. Fun fact: Virtual Riot's Pray For Riddim actually clips the layer kick and claps with +14 db.
@ApolloKid2 жыл бұрын
@@rebirth4119 thank you mate.. I was just setting rules in my head when mixing and now I got some clarity
@DarkMetaOFFICIAL2 жыл бұрын
no man, have it no higher than like -.1 db don't let it clip. mix everything against that then just push your master up just before you hit peaks or else you'll lose information off the samples they made, and it will start removing high frequencies first (because they'll have higher amplitude in the waveform) which is terrible to do to these type of sounds. you don't even really need to be hard limiting, maybe just a soft clipper w fast attack. just keep everything peaking no higher than -.1db rms. this stuff is going to be played loud as fuck. there's no reason to push those samples into the red. you'll just lose energy in sacrifice. just eq them so they sit well and dont fight too much. if you solo 2 tracks and push them both to max vol it's easy to tell if they sit well. then a/b the other lanes against that group and it will be obvious and easy to pull any volumes down if they're standing out too much
@macph1032 жыл бұрын
Are you guys going to do a technically house vol. 2??? Hands down the best house pack that's come out in the last few years, I'll be the one to say it, rivals Sounds of KSHMR vol. 4.
