This Tedder Is Turning Me Into a Krone Fan

Been a krone fan since I borrowed a neighbors’ Krone tedder a couple years ago when my sitrex was down waiting for parts with rain on the way. My next one will likely be a krone.

Pay attention to the center safety guards mount bolts. They are the ones that hold the adjustment angle bar. Only two bolts hold the brackets on and we had a bolt get loose and breaks the guard wrapped around an umbrella ,got it fixed. But not something l would usually check. Kronemakes great machines.

Krone does build a very impressive tedder. My rhino isn't as fancy but I'm still thankful to have one. If it weren't for having a tedder I would have wound up with alot of washed hay this summer. Great video have a good one!

Krone even sill still makes a chain and slat roll baler, as well a belt models.

I have a 2011 Krone RP1250 round baler which uses the chain and slat with net binding ... It's a beast, 60 bales an hour in a good crop no problem 😀👍

Krone make a quality product. Got a old 3pt 4 rotor tedder hyd fold and a Kr120 net wrap 4 x 4 round baler. Both from the late 80's early 90's. Both were used by a dairy farmer who also contract baled with them. He looked after them but did alot work with them. Apart from replacing tynes and 2 rotor arms the tedder has been faultless. The baler has had most bearings replaced. Been on the lookout for a krone 3pt moco for a few years and they just don't come up for sale. 👍🇦🇺

Krone makes a great tedder. It's worth the extra money it might cost to get one, other brands just are not as good and you don't want problems with the tedder when rain is in the forecast.

Hello Jacob I like the 3pht better can clear all the hay if need be. I know tedding hay makes drying time faster better hay. I bought a New holland 254 a good month ago, can ted the hay and then when time is right set it and make great windrows there lifted up high and air out fast. This made drying time a day faster. Hmmm... I've heard the "dual use" machines don't do either job particularly well... they don't ted as good as a dedicated tedder, and they don't rake as well as a dedicated rake. Don't have experience with them firsthand but that's what I heard anyway from a number of sources. I looked at a Zweegers "Super Haybob" one time, was kinda fascinated by it. Seems their somewhat popular in Europe... but of course that doesn't necessarily mean they're a good fit or better than what we typically use here... OL J R :)

I looked up your Krone Easy Cut in the description... nice mower. Problem with the 3 point hitch models with the conditioner on them is, they are *HEAVY* mothers... Your big IH's would be needed for cutting... not so much the horsepower, but just a tractor with enough heft to actually pick the thing up and carry it around! Did you see how that big tractor they had it on was rocking and swaying when they folded the thing?? IMHO that's why the pull types are a lot better... unless you have a big tractor that is underutilized at that time of year, and you want to get a somewhat cheaper mounted version of the mower with a conditioner on it. The smallest one they make in the video I watched was a 2.8 meter, which is a 9 foot cut basically. A 70 horse Ford can EASILY handle a 9 foot Kuhn with no conditioner, but add the weight of the conditioner and the horsepower to turn it, I'd think you'd really want at least 80-90 horsepower on it, particularly on hilly or soft ground. You might get by with a 70 horse tractor but it would sure push you around and make her sweat running it, particularly at speed (6 mph). Probly be a handful to lift and fold as well. They also have a 10.5 and 12 foot model available, but for that 12 footer you better have about a 130+ horse tractor to handle it and the conditioner, and stout enough to lift and fold it LOL:) Good looking mowers... my old Zweegers drum mower could have an added-on flail conditioner, but I never bought one for it... it was a lot smaller than the ones on the disk mowers, which are nearly "full width" which means HEAVIER-- the Zweegers windrows all the hay coming out the back into a narrow swath so it only needed about a 3 foot or so wide flail conditioner on it, which replaced part of the rear panel on the mower and pinned on to the main gearbox with a pair of HD pins, with a driveshaft coming out the side to an extra box that bolted over the PTO shaft sticking out the back of the main mower drive pulley... Krone builds good stuff. The reason there's so many pasta tedders around is because they are cheap. They're cheap because they're BUILT cheap... AND you get what you pay for, more often than not. Honestly if you're going to spend the money, I think the Krone is well worth it. Built heavier and will hold up better than the pasta tedders, and less replacement of stuff like those thin flat steel tine arms, and last longer than the cheaper tube frame models. And you're right about the tires/wheels as well. Spindles also can be a weak point on cheaper tedders, a heavier/stronger spindle and hub is going to hold up better than other cheaper stuff. Later! I've had a bunch of those tedders and currently own 4 of them I can not stand them... they're good when they work but they usually don't last very long guards break off signs break off arms ect it's like they built them out of soda cans... they are also bad about rowing hay really bad once it drys a little

The safety stuff falling off is typical. Farmers will remove many shields in their lifetime and never put them back. I do notice the rows a little, but it's saved my a$$ a couple times on hay that wasn't drying well in my typical three day window.

@@boehmfarm4276 yeah tedders in general help me with tons of drying issues but those krone brand ones just don't do it for me once they start falling apart you'll lose the ability to angle them and everything else just gets expensive to repair I still have a couple older bush hog brand ones and those are the ones I prefer using because they don't break ad often I've been planning on trading them off on pottinger and getting 8 basket ones instead of 4

What do you do going into a fenced corner with the tedder? Cut across the corner and then reverse into it with the PTO on or just skip it?

Check out the enorossi G4v tedders. They make a 17 foot and I think an 18ft or 19ft. They actually look pretty nice. Definitely for the price

I’ve got a pequea Tedder and I’ve always liked krone but pequea Tedder are the way to go for big hay operations a lot more replaceable parts then krone
