João Fonseca just SHOCKED the tennis world. This 18-year-old Brazilian prodigy DOMINATED the Next Gen ATP Finals, leaving everyone wondering: is he the NEXT BIG THING? 🤔
He's got the power, the finesse, and the mental toughness to become a legend. But can he reach the level of Alcaraz and Sinner? Or even surpass them? 🏆

Fonseca is an exceptionally talented and promising player. With his skills, I am confident he will soon make his way into the top 40 tennis players in the world. However, to elevate himself among the elite, he must undertake several crucial steps. We have seen this with Sinner, whose journey, while inspiring, was not easy. Fonseca must develop the consistency, power, and mental strength of Sinner, along with the brilliance of Alcaraz, which is quite challenging...

As a Brazilian, I’m carefully optimistic. Our greatest ever was Kuerten, who won a couple Roland Garros and reached #1 despite having to face Federer and Nadal on their prime. Fonseca seemingly has the talent, the drive and the thirst to achieve more than Kuerten did; let’s hope he can keep up at the grand slams.

Usually the winner of the NextGen reaches at least a GS semifinal, so def there is some correlation. However, Fonseca seems more of a Rune than a Sinner. I think it is going to take him some time and some great coaching to reach his potential.

Sinner when has his age wasnt at top 100 too. Then yes, we have to wait. But we dont loose nothing to predict.. For me: he is the best talent after Sinner and Alcaraz, if he will be the best player after both, we have to wait

@joaopedrorubez1700 Sinner IS a ver special case. He Never was a top junior, he started quite late and he made an Splash in Challengers. He managed to get into top 100 at 18. People tend to forget but before last year a lot of people claimed that he was nothing but a poor version of Berdych. He took some time to become a real threat at GS. So people need to be patient with Fonseca, the guy has fantastic shots but there are áreas he needs to improve. And most people don't rise as fast as Alcaraz did
@joaopedrorubez1700
@joaopedrorubez1700 19 күн бұрын
@yomismo74 Fonseca can enter at top 100 with 18 years. Im brazillian. His carreer management is very similar to Sinner. For example, if Fonseca focus only at clay last year he was enter at top 100. But he plays Clay, hard, glass, hard indoor for improvement. We cant say that Fonseca will be the same level then Sinner and Alcaraz but we can say that he is the best rising star at this time..
@yomismo74
@yomismo74 19 күн бұрын
@joaopedrorubez1700 yes, he can in fact IS quite probable he Will do It. I think a good bunch of youngsters (Bassavareddy, Tiene, Landaluce) Will reach top 100 this year. But Van Assche reached top 100 Young and now he is struggling. Anyway, Fonseca seems to go in the right direction. He defeated Mckenzie very easily. A good tournament in Camberra could make possible to reach top 100 even in the Australian open

I watched him win the Next Gen tournament. He is talented, but there are a number of holes in his game that the best players in the world will be able to exploit quite easily. He needs to work on his backhand, which is nowhere near his impressive forehand. His volleying and movement also need to be improved if he is going to make it in the big leagues. Carlos Alcaraz's depth/drop shot game, at its best, would be a disaster for João.

As Djokovic has displayed, he clearly believes that earth is a plane and all players are on a level playing field…Therefore, all players who have the body, hard work and good head can be #1… nobody can ever be #1 if they believe they are playing tennis on a court that is on a spinning space rock moving in 4 different directions at ludicrous speeds in the vacuum of space… those who have achieved #1 were either ignorant to this reality at the time they achieved it or they were closet Flat Earthers, which many are, Djokovic being a prime one…peace on the Plane Earth brothers and sisters
