No matter how much finfluenzas try to show you excels showcasing renting is better than buying, eventually everyone wants to own a home at some point in life. Even Nikhil Kamath the poster boy of renting-supporters ended up buying 😅 Just don’t look at it as an investment for creating wealth. The house you live in is an expense and nothing wrong with that.

The right question for each individual to ask themselves is what stage of life would they want to buy their own place. No one seems to debate about owning a place eventually, it’s about the timing & financial / emotional maturity of respective person.

@@siddhesh7183agree! Do the math and set your timelines and go for home. Being on rent is like harassment in india.

what a hospitable and nice guy , imagine even him having difficulty in the marriage market . what unreasonable expectations do people have these days, jeez. he is doing well in life and is well spoken enough. how would it matter if he didn't own a home? ... crazy . and then people break apart marriages at the slightest inconvenience.

Emotional well being is the biggest asset a person can have. This cannot be plotted on excel sheet.

In a year or two they will have to buy another flat for his brother..! But yes, buying a home is always a super satisfying decision, be it at any stage of life.

My God. The resemblance between his thoughts and mine are completely uncanny. I recently switched sides and finally invested in a home for myself and this is the exact thought process. I know it is costly, I know it isn't the best financial decision, and I know it means nothing when my Dad keeps telling me this is how I built assets and this is how you will do so because it isn't an asset. I consider it as an expense, an expense that I am willing to bear for the emotional value it provides. No one sells their house unless it is a dire situation or they are looking to move up higher on the ladder. In both cases, there are better investment alternatives.

Renting- short term gain. Owning a house- long term gain . That's unless the person has crores of wealth to splurge on rentals indefinitely & still has enough in investments which keeps generating more wealth . Rental is a financial outgoing with no gain except staying in a house for a fixed term

There’s no guarantee that all houses price will increase in the long term
@aosaeanorКүн бұрын
@akshayxml That depends on where the person buys the house. Tho on an average property prices rarely ever remains static.

Buying a home for living in is an emotional decision in India. Don't understand why folks are obsessed with excel calculations. It becomes a poor investment when someone buys a 2nd property with the objective of capital income and rental yield as both are shit in the current investment climate and going forward.
