The Chosen is a fantastic way to bring lukewarm Christians and non-Christians to Jesus. Most of the scenes are compelling and superbly presented, but there are artistic liberties here and there that I would have done differently in terms of content. However, it is impossible to give a perfect, absolutely true biblical portrayal because we are only human and simply do not possess God's all-encompassing wisdom. The writers and the entire crew of The Chosen have done something unique and I can only recommend the show to everyone... it helps many to better understand the events surrounding Jesus and most importantly, many people start to study the Bible and invite Jesus into their hearts... and that is what matters in the end.

Chosen is good at what it says it is going to do. I like it. It's the best thing that has ever happened to television. As far as "impossible," I can think of at least one recent Biblically scrupulous production for those who require it. I like it as well. It is the one with Jesus played by British actor John Foss, following the KJV verse by verse. You may even recognize some of the sets.

People can say that a certain scene in the show is not written in the Bible, but they cannot say that Jesus never did that! How do we know everything that Jesus did? For instance, the scene when Mary Magdelene back slid and started drinking again. The shame that she portrayed through that scene touched so many people who have struggled with the same thing. And once again, Jesus forgave her and redeemed her. How do we know that something like that didn't happen? No, it is not in the Bible. But that is one of the creative scenes that Dallas used to reach out to others. I, personally, thought it was a powerful scene! And it brought glory to God, which is why the Chosen series is being filmed. Mission accomplished! Folks, don't be so critical and just praise God for lives being saved and the lives being rededicated to God! Hallelujah!

It literally got me to pick up my bible and try again. It finally brought me in to relationship with characters so I could read the Bible and remember the person. The Bible is the greatest action adventure. I love reading daily. Thank you for the series to challenge me to open up the relationship I needed with Jesus. Checking the show with the Bible has actually pulled me to read it, and then the Holy Spirit can work. It was sitting on a shelf for years until The Chosen. Rather than dividing over a show, or as a Christian we should pick up the book, read it, pray over it and follow Jesus.

I have over the years written about the Bible stories based on scripture. One example, in something I wrote about Matthew, I wrote that if we could see as Jesus saw, we would be able to see the disciple in the tax collector. Is that in the Bible? The story yes but not those precise words. “Eyes that see, ears that hear “ is the basis of that particular writing. Keep up the good work, Dallas. Jesus is real to me and has been many years and this series touches me in its realistic portrayals of how God uses flawed humans to be his hands and feet and voice in this broken world. I love the Chosen. I was previously avoiding Christian shows, having been worried they would not have the right perspective of the Bible. I am very pleased though how the Chosen was done. I love that the stories are there, Dallas brought the story of Peter that lead up to the walking on water scene to a beautiful touching place where many people could relate. My hubby relates to Peter. I also understand being worried about confusion because my husband doesn’t know the Bible like I do. We watch it together and I explain to him what is biblical and what is not and he agrees with me. The added story lines really make the show as awesome as it is. I have started to weep almost daily since I came to Jesus recently. Reflecting on all sorts of things I never would have. I cried maybe 3 times in my 39 years prior as an adult agnostic. The first scene with Mary at the bar with Jesus and he calls her name outside hit me like a weeping Mac truck. This whole series has been amazing. When I first started watching it, I have to admit, I was skeptical. But as I watched that whole episode of Season 1, Episode 1, I saw what Dallas was doing, and got it. And I know that the Lord is using him to reach those who wouldn't have considered or were turned off by Christianity or even reading the Bible. Despite how people think of how it's being done, it doesn't matter. It's touching lives, winning hearts to seek Him and find Him. It's up to those once captivated to keep seeking and learning, and reading His word. Watching this series has ministered to me in such an amazing way. I've been a Christian all my life. And yet this series has spoken volumes, providing a new perspective in certain areas. It's been an overall a true blessing.

The Chosen for me has brought the stories of Jesus to life like never before and it brought me to loving him even more because I now feel so much closer to him like never before! I look back to a Sunday school class where our Pastor’s wife was teaching on the crucifixion and as she spoke tears ran down her cheeks. As an 8 or 9 year old child that impacted me and a memory I hold dear. ❤I’m was raised Catholic and the Bible was not stressed as much as I needed it to be. Reading it, I was easily confused by names of apostles and who other main Bible characters really were. Now having watched it, I know every apostle name and visualize them. I can visualize how the Romans acted and dressed and how and why the religious order of that time acted and felt about all that occurred around our Savior Jesus. God Bless all who watch and have faith and continue to walk with Jesus as we save our salvation! God is awesome and I hope to see everyone in heaven!❤🙏✝️
