Today we are ranking trash. For most, trash is garbage, but for the thrifty, it also makes excellent crafting material. This is not a definitive list of trash though -- just the regular amount of trash that I keep underneath my desk. Happy trash hunting, everyone.

I recycle my paper cardboard by gluing it together in varying thicknesses, and use it kind of like mini "lumber" "ply", if that makes sense. It helps when trying to build anything that requires fine measurement and scale. I use it to make scale timber frames and things like that.
@aquabluerose7734
@aquabluerose7734 2 жыл бұрын
That makes sense! I've actually been using cardboard for making fake trees which works well if you're building in a bigger scale (one of my bigger trees has a trunk slightly fatter than a toilet paper roll, and it was built from paper towel rolls that are bent and then loads of cardboard glued on and painted along with real twigs for the branches and then paint on the cardboard parts to match it to the branches)

This channel is actually so amazing. Like not only do you create incredible artworks but the fact that it’s all legitimate recycling is beyond satisfying and inspirational. I’m sure we can all sympathize with all the plastic garbage that accumulates over time and not knowing what to do with it so you just end up throwing it in the recycling like everyone else. But this is such a lovely alternative to that and as someone that’s constantly looking for new hobbies and loves working with my hand this might be something I can legitimately get into. Although I don’t exactly need an excuse to become more of a hoarder than I already am this just seems too satisfying a hobby to pass up 😂
@milgeekmedia

One of my favorite trash is old earrings and jewelry. The hooks, the plastic gems, the weirdly shaped metal, and the beads are all used in some way when I am making buildings for dnd. Plus, my aunt gave me a box of old earrings, and after sifting through the ones I wanted to wear, I had a lot left over to recycle

I was watching one Studson's vids a few weeks back, and he said something like, "If you want to know how to always have the right parts for a build, try keeping a semi-organized landfill under your desk!" I have started my own collection of trash for crafting, and refer to it as my landfill. It isn't organized yet, and I still don't have a workspace. So it's in the corner. Due to my insistance on disecting soft drink cans, I now have like three dozen sheets of aluminum just waiting to be made into something cool.

I don't even craft anything, but I've always felt terrible when I throw out cool looking containers/boxes/misc garbage because I've always thought there should be SOME use for it. (when I was a small child I actually kept neat looking styrofoam and cool boxes to use as makeshift buildings/playsets for my toys) This video (and all of the videos on your channel really) validate my feelings.
