Are reverse rotation tillers better than forward rotation tillers? This has been a question that I am now able to ask.

A 3 point tiller is definitely on our short list. Thanks for the informative video.

You bet. A tiller, mower, and box blade will change your life on the rear. Forks and a grapple with change your life on the front!

That looks amazing! I live in northern New Hampshire. I have boulders and ledge about an inch under the soil. I am envious of your terrain. 😊

Wow! That really gets it done! It's like a tiller and aerator all in one. Very cool demonstration, Tony! Thanks for sharing! 👍😎 On a side note, the gophers are out here....maybe it'll take them out too.

The tiller does a beautiful job. You are very fortunate to have soil with no stones in it. I would love to see how this would operate in soil with stones in it.

That looks like a VERY "Well Built" fine piece of machinery. A good "idea" for the company to "through-in" the 5$ sight-glass & dip-stick accommodations. That is a very "prestigious" adjutable flow-gate-guard chamber. On my 5year old 50 hour 60" 1500.°°$ "country-pride" ( kind of entry-level) tiller that has werked flawlessly.... with ONE Exception the back "flow-gate-guard ' is pure "rinky-dink" & twist-o-flexed up! It NEEDS to get "rebuilt-reinforced-recalibrated", because like you say& l know it's SO IMPORTANT to have this gate "Working Properly & Safely ". It can be "converted" to reverse rotation; but never have. The tines are 25% used up( but seem to be self-sharpening) & performance has droped off accordingly. It IS TRUE "you only get what you pay for". A SLIP-clutch is SO IMPORTANT to have; & adjusted properly to protect the tractors driveline & total equipment package. That was an Excellent Profomance Demonstration. Thank you Sir for the Excelent vidio and happy safe tractoring. Best wishes with all your endeavours.

This is exactly what I was looking into. I'm buying a TYM T574HC in about 4 weeks, and looking for a good tiller to use behind it. Price seems pretty competitive as well. Thanks for posting.

Anyone else here remember breaking ground with the old walk-behind tillers? Those were the days I don't miss. Definitely not a candidate for reverse rotation though LOL.

A reverse rotation tiller works great in soil that has already been tilled, its also fine in un-prepped soil if you don't have issues with rocks. They dig deeper and don't push the tractor forward like a forward rotation tiller does. You don't get the hopping and skipping that those forward rotation tills do when they can't dig into the hard compacted soil. I have a Landpride 50" RTR0550 reverse rotation tiller, first pass shallow, 2nd pass full depth and done. Leave a very smooth fine soil bed behind it. Even tilling up sod is very easy and quick.

Awesome stuff, as always, it sure looks like it is built like a tank. it definitely did a great job on that hard clay

I have to say that I'm not a fan of the reverse rotation. I like the results, but after using a Landpride version, I found they dig really deep, really fast, and I'm not a fan of the build-up in front of the tiller. I am becoming a fan of the IC attachments, but in this case, I hope they offer a forward rotation as well.

It certainly produces a very fine till in your soil, great for germination, but it will disrupt the soil biome and increase the tendency to wash out. Horses for courses though, great for some not so much for others.

the first tiller i ever bought was a reverse till landpride and i hated it it digs to deep especially after multiple passes and just leaves to many lines in the garden plus if u hit something buried it will throw the object into the top of the tiller poking a hole in the top of it guess how i know that. so i sold it as quick as i could and got a forward till king kutter and it does a way better job it doesnt dig so deep and leaves a way nicer finish in the garden plus if i hit something buried it just hops over it causing no damage

Nice video! What is your PTO hp? This looks like too much tiller for my tractor; it is a Kioti DK4520 with 45 hp & just a tick over 40 hp at the PTO. It's manual gear drive so there's bit more power than a same sized hydrostatic unit. Thank you.

Your tractor would do as well as mine. Please understand that this is an extremely difficult tilling situation. I was burying the tiller completely because of how many times It had already been tilled. Later I tried the tiller in new ground and it did much better.

Try moving forward as you are dropping it to avoid creating a trench at the edges of the garden. You'll thank me next time you have to mow or do this again.

Recently I purchased a Kioti DKS 4720 tractor with a bucket and a backhoe. I’ve been watching your shows. This is what I need. Would my tractor fit this Baumalit flail mower? I notice you have a grapple on your tractor. Would I need one to use the mower? If I were to purchase this mower how would I transport it?

Definitely you are a city farmer!!! A farmer would not pick up the equipment but turn and go down one row and across to another and go down the other!!!! No time for all the up and down but your plot is so small a hand machine would be as practical!!!!
